I saw the advertisement on TV last night. It looked fine, but I'll wait for a deal before playing the campaign. Anyone know if it is coop?

This is shockingly true. If I was a game developer, I'd make a video game where you play the part of a game developer and you set out to kill millions of gamers. Your melee weapon would be an xbox controller and you could beat the tar out of them with it. Also, a mouse and cord. Strangle. Do strangle.

That is one thing Doom II had correct. It was fun to play like that. I remember quite a few summer nights being up all night in co-op mode over dial-up modem (where you directly dialed the person you wanted to play with). Nothing like realizing how late/early it was it when the sun coming up that reminded you...
 
I can't wait for the new DOOM. But the remixed theme just sounds off to me. I actually prefer DOOM 3's theme in comparison. And, when it comes to remixes of the original theme there's many to choose from. A good one, in my opinion, is Brutal DOOM's. But, of course, the original will always have a special place in my heart.

But sadly I'm not sure if I will pre order it or not,
The beta didn't run very well on my pc, had a very bad FPS drops ( Game optimization problem I guess ) because The division runs on ultra just fine, and I don't think Doom should require more specs than the devision...

PC specs:
I7 2600k OCed @ 4Ghz
Radeon R9 380 4GB
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz

what do you guys think? pre order or not :X

How well is SLI working in this game? I noticed that there were drivers released a while back that enabled SLI for this game.
 
I pre-ordered simply because it came with a Wolfenstein game which looked pretty good. I have nothing against pre-ordering if there's an incentive.... Besides pre-loading.
 
Normally Im against pre-ordering, but.....I mean come on.....its doom.....there was no way I wasn't going to play it day 1 so there was no point in waiting.

The multiplayer was much too consolized for me, but that was developed by a 3rd party studio. ID did the campaign themselves and thats what I'm buying it for.
 
If any of you guys want to see some DOOM singleplayer footage as played with an actual KB+M, and not a gamepad, then watch this video. Looks very promising, but no way in hell am I spending $50 on it, sorry, been burned one too many time to do that again. I just wish the beta was focused on this instead of that stupid team deathmatch garbage.

I'm sure everyone wishes the beta was focused on the campaign so that no one would have to actually pay for the game... C'mon guy... That isn't happening.
 
So the game supposedly works well with Vulkan while running on a 1080. Will Vulkan be a slow POS on everything other than a 1080? Serious question BTW.
 
ordered mine from Green Man Gaming with 25% coupon (DOOM25), 44.99 instead of 60!

also means that it's 58$ CAD instead of 92$ CAD retail at local stores....
