So tired of assholes who vote for polices that increase poverty and then want to maim the poor who steal. Sort of makes violent crime against them seem justified.

I hate thieves. But I have more sympathy for them than for the people who are immoral about issues of poverty, usually poverty and drugs.

HSBC bank was just found to launder billions for drug cartels, and not prosecuted because 'that could hurt the economy'. Ya, maim the poor guy. Barbarians.

ezackly, i bet this machine has a fingerprint detector that taps into a database that makes sure youre a poor person before it begins cutting, even though what they really need is a penis cutting machine for banksters

Guys seems to be taking it rather well. No screaming, no nothing,,,.

Maybe we need to do something like what iran does? Get caught importing drugs, get your hand cut off.

How about cutting the balls off anybody who still thinks the drugs are better off illegal in the first place?

Very justifiable punishment for those who do donuts on freeways. We can learn a thing or two from Iran.

Then what do we do with politicians? Do we get to cut off their fingers and tongues.

They're nothing but thieving and lying pricks after all.

They really are barbaric fucks in that country aren't they? Absolutely barbaric 14th century animals. At least those who endorse this kind of practice.

well, for politicians, medieval punishments are not enough, we'll have to go back to punishments of ancient times :)

to all the proponents, the punishment might be just, but the process might suck, what if you were wrongfully accused? which is very highly probably in these countries

Wrongfully accused and sentenced more likely in countries with so-called "fair trial" - with 12 jurors and lawyers than can do to these jurors anything they want to...

I lived for 30 years in former USSR and haven't heard about wrongfully sentenced person(I'm not talking about years before 1960)...
To sentence a criminal, there should be a people, who do know about justice - 3 judge panel, not 12 boneheads sitting on jurors bench...

Jurors - problem of wrongfully sentenced people...or if criminals let go free.

Did I say USSR or Russia? is not the same.
I wouldn't deny that nowadays is corruption in Russia...Corruption is everywhere, where are money...In US too...more than ir Russia or less - no one really knows, unless you're a politician or a businessman and confess....

Well, let's go to upcoming "trial" of 9/11 so-called masterminds...it's trial more, like in Stalin years than post-Stalin: did you read in my post: "I'm not talking about years before 1960"?

Of course, these poor arabs will be convicted, even if they didn't mastermind anything - it's just for people who can't think, who can't tell even how WTC 7 fell down even no aircraft hit WTC7...

As you see, now we're going to FACTS - from Russia to US...FACTS, that aren't pretty good to people like you - Doppel

I don't know, how building like WTC 7 could fall without anything hitting it....
Arab "terrorists" on the Boeing 767? doing maneuvers when they couldn't fly properly Cessna?
Ask any pilot, that flies B-767 and ask, what differences are about B-767 and Cessna's? their cockpits? About how planes flew into buildings - maneuvers...

I don't think, that any pilot that flies aircraft as Boeing 767 would believe in official story...

There are some many things in this case...any trial simply can't be fair to any "arab suspects"

You have to be a fool to believe about "arab masterminds"....

Like Noam Chomsky has said: "Why they(outside US) don't like us, if we're so goodf?"

Russia is bad? US is good?

People are everywhere the very same - 2 hands, 2 legs, one head...

What's is the problem? some people are on the different sides of The Fence...

We do know, actually:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index

I assume you don't actually intend to imply that the USSR was LESS corrupt than Russia; that a typical citizen had MORE of a chance to justice? Heck, Russia right now for the first time ever is actually charging a guy who Russia killed in prison. He was a whistleblower, but that kind of thing is frowned upon there.

--

Anyway, I think you're getting off track with 911 and who caused it or didn't. I've said on multiple occasions I'm disgusted with the US' handling of the war on terror. You'll notice in the graphic I placed there that the US is not the least-corrupt nation; Canada is less. The US is absolutely not perfect, and has its own problems. There is nothing just about Gitmo, the kill-list, wire-tapping. All of these reek to high heaven of a government run amok, but keeping perspective there's not a person here who'd rather go through the iranian criminal system than the US one.

Being Iran it's not really surprising. What's surprising is that they don't just behead them, or use a saw or something. Seems like quite the machine for such a simple task.

This is something we'll eventually see in the US for pirates.

Equating corruption in Russia/China/etc to Africa makes that German Corruption Perception Index pretty worthless. Its no better than Freedom Index or Happiness Index. Highly subjective, and politically motivated.

You want to see barbaric, look at our copyright laws.

If you like The Laws so much, could you able to tell, who issued green cards to Christopher Columbus, George Washington?

I think, you're aware, that Americas - North and South are lands of native americans - indians...
Who gave you a RIGHT to tell others - who's here legally or illegally?

Are you an indian or a barbaric - "green card" holder?

If you don't give a damn about native americans-indians, who gives a damn of you illegal copyright laws?

I would say our privatized penal system is far more evil in different ways.

That is true. There is far more corruption behind the system here.

In places like there it's straight to the point, no screwing around. It's probably legal to download music there, too! Well, I don't think they have computers, but if they did.

They might be a shithole country, but on this point I wholeheartedly agree with them.

You know, I'm all for using pain as a punishment but I'd rather just stick with flogging. Permanently maiming someone seems a little much, even for me.

Some of those people don't have enough fingers.

I would say our privatized penal system is far more evil in different ways.
And it gets worse when you have some organizations offering up prisoners as cheap labor.

Kind of sucks...they're in there not getting anything useful done, but if they do become useful, then there's the risk of generating (more?) demand for a steady supply of prisoners, preferably ones that aren't so psychotic that they're unable to be used as laborers.
