A few have pointed this out, but here's why I prefer NewEgg over all of 'em -- including mWave...

When you order something at NewEgg, and it says "In Stock", it means In Stock. No e-mail an hour later telling you the product is backordered. Combined with their low prices and speedy FedEx shipping, there's nothing better.

As for RMAs, I've been nothing but pleased with NewEgg's policies. Often times I have a replacement or the money back within a weeks time. No "30 days" like so many other vendors.

<< John: Go read some of those customer reviews. RMAing with them doesn't look like fun. >>

OMG, when is it EVER fun?

I have ordered several times from newegg and mwave and I've had consistently good experiences with both of them. There is one difference between the two that has influenced my purchasing decisions: will-call.

Both are easy for me to get to. However, newegg only ships items; they won't let me pick them up in person. Mwave, on the other hand, let's me do just that. So, if I'm getting something like a monitor, it makes sense to pay a nominal "handling" fee and avoid shipping charges.

Good point there Pabster. As with my order with Mwave that was actually 'special order', I did not even get an e-mail saying that it was so. I got a receipt(invoice) from
them through the mail but no goodies (meaning they charged me first way before the item was actually shipped). Newegg has an awesome automated
inventory system ( even prices are updated almost to the minute). When RMA'ing something, Newegg actually sends you e-mail notification of their
receipt.

Terrible, I would not recommend these people to anyone..., I was very pleased to see that they appeared to have the item I ordered in stock, it had been unavailable for several days prior to changing to an available and usually ships within 24 hours status, I placed an order and watched the status for 3 days, thinking the "your order has been accepted and is being processed" would surely change on the third or fourth day, but to my surprise I received the email below from PayPal.

So I called Mwave to see what could have possibly happened and I was told very casually that the item which I ordered was not in stock, I then reminded the customer service rep that you can not place an order on their website if the item has an unavailable status, and she once again casually reminded me that the item was not in stock..., I could see this was going to go no where, what happened to common courtesy, no explanation....,

1. We said we had it,
2. You ordered it,
3. You waited 3 days,
4. We cancel your order then simply say we don't have it when you call, as if you (the customer) ordered a product that was out of stock, even thought their website prevents you from ordering unavailable items.

Do you want to get involved with a company that operates like that?
