Why on earth did this double post??
I don't know... I was having trouble with instant double posting earlier too... or at least it would tell me I had just posted and to wait 15 seconds when I only hit the reply button once.

You got your teeth re-sealed. How many of them? Good for you though. Excellent investment.

I know what I'm getting everyone except my dad, sister-in-law, and my cousin + her wife... that's like 80% of the work done right there.

I can't decide if I want to do my usual holiday baking this year. cookies would be the ideal gift for my cousin and her wife and my sister in law, but after dieting all year, I really don't want that shit in my house. idk if I can trust myself around it.

A total of 16 needed resealed. They all basically started wearing at the same time. I go to the dentist every 6 months to get them cleaned (Xrays every year), and also to get the sealants inspected. Since the dentist has been working with us since me and brother were about 4 years old (20 now), he only charged me for the 11 he originally said needed done. At $41 a tooth and being on a college budget, I'm thankful for that.

I've never had a cavity in my life, and I personally think the sealants were 80% of the prevention. I'd honestly pay a lot more for them to ensure that I received them. They're definitely worth it.

My gf will get the same once she's with me. Its unfortunate that she didn't have the chance to grow up with parents that were as fiscally responsible as my grandparents were. (Her entire $1000 SS check goes into the family rent and she *still* has to buy her own medications, clothes, school materials, doctor visits, and many times her own food). Her father tries to help when he can but I can't say he's any better with money than the rest of her family.

I guess thats why I don't really buy things for myself but instead give to her. I feel like I've had such a wonderful, overabundant (at times outright spoiled) lifestyle that I can't feel happy anymore buying things for myself, but I love seeing those bright, beautiful eyes light up when she gets something from me that she could otherwise never have..

Anyways yeah, that's exactly the same problem I was getting.

You had your wisdom teeth pulled then b/c 16 teeth would mean all the teeth that can be sealed are sealed. (8 molars and 8 bicuspids). The Dentist still made bank off you by charging you $450 ;). I know the materials costs for sealants.

Sealants rock. I have every thing possible sealed up on my teeth too.

Oh I know he made bank off of me. That's unfortunately what doctors (and dentists) do.. Can't say I blame him. He was still unfortunately the cheapest dentist I could get the work done at :( I guess its just considered a luxury procedure to get done, similar to bleaching, rather than a real, necessary part of dental health.

And yes, I had all 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed before they erupted because one of them was already beginning to catch under my other molar and the others looked like they were going to follow suit.

I have my ATOT Secret Santa gift all picked out, but I have to wait on the biggest piece for about another 10 days. He'll still get it in time though, so I'm not worried. That's really the only gift I've even thought about to be honest, everyone else can suck it.

You are in for a treat, though you may need to travel a bit to pick it up. :sneaky:

m-o-o-n.... that spells fricken done <3

dad -- 3 pound box of dark chocolate candies from a chocolatier and a friction mount for his GPS

mom -- couple random books, New Best Recipe (because she keeps trying to steal mine), and a new computer (new for her, built from my spare parts... but I had to purchase a cdrom and an OS)

sister/b-i-l -- decided it was more practical to spend double the money getting them a joint present rather than individual presents... they're getting an ice cream maker attachment for the mixmaster that my parents are giving them, a book on making ice cream, and they're also getting a copy of New Best Recipes because it's the greatest cookbook known to man and no one should be without it

niece -- rocking chair and clothes

all that's left to do now is ship out 6 boxes of cookies (my cousin in LA, my cousin in Finland, my sister-in-law, and 3 college friends). hopefully, weather permitting, that'll get done during my lunch break on Monday.
