Donald Trump releases his birth certificate, demands Obama does the same

While some are not satisfied with Obama's birth certificate and want to see his "long form" (just cos you want to), I want to see Trig Palin's long form birth certificate. Since his "mother", Sarah Palin, was the honorable half-term governer of the state of Alaska, the ultimate line of defense against Russia, and a VP candidate, and a potential presidential nominee, there is legitimate public interest in knowing more about his birth, since Sarah Palin's stories about his birth make no sense:

- her water broke when she was delivering a speech at a Republican Governers' conference. she continued to deliver her speech despite the leaking amniotic fluid
- she took two different planes from Texas to Alaska. Why did she go back to Alaska, and not deliver in Texas?
- The journey took over 10 hours and two different planes. How did anyone let her on a plane in her condition?
- Her flight connected in Seattle. She waited calmly for her flight while going through labor pains. People who saw her than have said she looked perfectly calm. If any of you gave birth or had a spouse/relative give birth, you know they look anything but calm
- when she landed in Anchorage, she continued her trip to Wassilla, instead of going to a hospital in Anchorage
- she did all this despite having a special-needs baby
- noone knew she was pregnant until 7+ months
- she gave birth two weeks after announcing she was pregnant
- noone has claimed they saw her give birth

There are so many weird things about Trig's birth, I just want to know. Will Sarah Palin please produce Trig's long term birth certificate? If not, what does she have to hide?

Oh, my proof for any of the statements above? I just read them on the Internets, so they must be true. Go Google yourself if you really want to know

One last crack at explaining this maybe. Pretend you're a birther. You know about the newspaper announcements and live birth certificate and HI public official statements verifying them, and you just don't believe them. You're not convinced. Why the hell would another official HI document convince you where the mountain of evidence before you has failed to do so?

XX: It's coming up again sir, they want more documentation.

BO: Have I not already provided all necessary documentation to establish my citizenship?

XX: You have sir.

BO: And these people who want more, they know about the two newspapers that published announcements of my birth back in 1961?

XX: Yes.

BO: And they've seen the official certificate of live birth issued by Hawaii that is prima facie evidence good in any state or federal court, and state or federal office including the State department?

XX: Yes. But they did think it was fake at first.

BO: But they've since accepted that it's authentic?

XX: Reluctantly, yes.

BO: And they know the Republican governor of Hawaii released an official statement verifying the accuracy of the documents establishing my birth there?

XX: Yes.

BO: And they know the Hawaii Health Dept also issued a statement verifying the authenticity of the documents establishing my birth there?

XX: Yes.

BO: So, I guess my question is...if someone knowing all of the above still doesn't acknowledge that I was born in Hawaii, what exactly is my motivation for releasing any more documents? Would a "long form" birth certificate convince such a person that I was born in Hawaii?

XX: Unlikely.

BO: Would such a person likely contend that any further documentation is either fake or otherwise insufficient to establish my birth in Hawaii?

XX: That is likely.

BO: Would a person holding that view most likely do so because they are opposed to my presidency either due to their opposing political views or because of a racial or ethnic bias?

XX: Those do seem to be the leading correlations among the birther contingent sir.

BO: Then again, I don't see why I should bother to satisfy the demands of crazy, racist, or merely politically motivated people who don't honestly care to see the evidence they are so persistent in asking for and who upon receipt of such evidence wouldn't bother to acknowledge what it tells them anyway.

XX: If you don't they will claim you are hiding something.

BO: Didn't they say that when I produced the newspapers from 1961 announcing my birth?

XX: Well, yes.

BO: Didn't they claim that when I released the original certificate?

XX: Er, yes.

BO: Didn't they say that when I had various members of the press verify the certificate?

XX: Um, yeah.

BO: And when the Hawaii Secretary of Health verified the documents as authentic?

XX: Right.

BO: And when the Republican Governor of Hawaii certified the documents as authentic?

XX: Then too.

BO: And if I went this extra step, bowing to the pressure of bigots and ignoramuses, would they stop asking for anything else? Would it satisfy anyone who isn't already satisfied?

XX: *Sigh*. No sir, they'll just ask for some other documents or won't believe the ones you produce, and they'll still harp on all the other conspiracy theories about dual citizenship or your years in Indonesia or your father's Kenyan ancestry. I understand that the documents issued in 2007 have been validated and verified as legal documents.

What you don't understand and what maybe we haven't illustrated clearly is we want to validate and verify the original document not the document issued in 2007.

So this is a similar scenario:

Standard Traffic Stop:

Police Officer: Licence, registration and insurance please?

Driver: Hands him pistol permit, title and United healthcare card

Police Officer: I need your drivers licence, car registration and car insurance

Driver: But these are valid documents issued and verified by the state

Police Officer: Yes they are but they are not the documents I asked for.

Driver: Look on here on the my pistol permit it signed by the governor and has the State seal!!!!!! It was issued at the state police Barracks down the road!!! It is really me on that permit!! Its been validated by the FBI background check and everything!!!

Police officer: Yeah I know its you on that pistol permit but what I asked for was your drivers license not your pistol permit.

Driver: ok ok but look at the car title it has my name on it! Its an authentic DMV document!! Its got a seal!

Police Officer: Yes that is an authentic title and it does prove you own the car. But I asked for your car registration.

So you really are claiming conspiracy, and would undoubtedly continue doing so if a copy of the "original" were presented because, after all, it'd only be a copy, right?

Birthers lack either the ability to recognize when they're wrong, or the decency to admit it, one or the other. The emotional comfort of perverted faith clearly overrides all rational considerations.

What you don't get and possibly cannot understand is that the document presented, validated and verified is the legal equivalent of the original document on which you and your fellows are so focused.

we are talking in circles here. I didn't ask to see the legal equivalent I asked to see the original. I'm not doubting what was presented in 2007 was the legal equivalent but it isn't what I am asking for. I didn't say I want to see the original OR the legal equivalent did I?

I'm not claiming anything. I want to see the original and so do a lot of other people. If I ask for an original I want the original not a copy of the original, not a legal equivalent of the original. The original. Whats so hard about this? Just show me the original.

Get your argument straight. Your analogy in post 167 inplies you think the two documents are in no way equivalent other than both being of government issue.

You wanted proof that he was eligible to run for President, he gave it. The long form birth certificate is just shifting goalposts.

Officer: can you prove you own this vehicle?
Driver: here are my ownership papers sir.
Officer: no I need to see the original bill of sale.
