There is is again.... calling it Jim Crow era laws. This is simply not true and I don't understand why liberals think it's such a crime for us to know who is voting. Making elections secure seems to go against the Democrat's wishes, which simply put, means it's more difficult to cheat. They hate that and call that a threat to democracy. The DOJ is putting their nose where it doesn't belong, injecting themselves into what should not have federal involvement. Constitutionally, the states are to decide the voting rules, not the feds. This is gonna fail and while it might go all the way to the SCOTUS, I believe they will rule that the fed involvement is unconstitutional, and that it is back to the state legislatures to decide how and when the elections are run.

All of these were legitimate, credible arguments right up until the point the Capitol was stormed using this exact same premise of "illegal votes." Which just, coincidentally, happen to be any votes that didn't vote your way.

Edit: and of course, the feds have a Constitutional obligation to ensure the fairness and security of any election for federal office.

Please. Five states, including Utah, vote by mail & drop boxes. Incidents of fraud are vanishingly small & I defy anybody to produce actual evidence to the contrary. GOP efforts are an exercise in scurrilous innuendo & fear mongering specifically designed to discourage voting by target groups. Don't pretend otherwise.
The reason they oppose vote by mail is because that takes away their ability to manipulate the vote through external influences. These people have no solutions to any problems except to double-down on what has never worked before.

We can debate all day about voter ID, what constitutes as a valid ID to vote, and how best to make it easy for everybody to get one.

What I never see addressed by proponents of these voting laws, however, is the provision for the state legislatures to overturn election results on a whim.

THAT is what most people are worried about.

You don’t get it because you don’t care about democracy, you are a traitor and you are hell bent on destroying this country. If you did care, you would have actually looked into the subject and realized it’s not just about voter ID, but you won’t do that.

I assume this will end up in front of the Supremes, it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

The states have a right to set election rules. Along with GA, TX is also attempting common sense voting reform to make them more free and fair and to ensure that people cannot vote more than once.

Anyone who opposes common sense voting reforms is simply reactionary and uniformed.

Wouldnt it be funny if they pulled a Stacey Abrams and actually got all those people ID's and in the process started a tradition of these people actually going to the booths from here on out.
The Mass Voter ID campaign <- which McBitch will call a power grab by the dems.

What about the purges from the voter rolls... that sit OK with you?
This is an obvious ANTI democratic power grab by the Trump Party. You get that right?

Do you think the dead have a right to vote?
They don’t though, this is just a lie conservatives make in order to justify voter suppression.

And remember, for federal elections the states can only implement rules that the feds decide to let them implement. Feds override everything.

nope and they didnt… did they? You are framing it like its open season and already legal to vote on behalf of dead people.. its not and its not.
The problem you propose to fix does not exist. So why “fix” it anyway? Maybe the real motive is something else? Possibly? Common dude you are not that gullible.

Because Biden is directing them to do so. It's his top priority and so much for the DOJ being independent. Maybe Hunter Biden's ex-partner can help the DOJ out because having one guy connected to Hunter wasn't enough.
Evidence or go fuck yourself

They are not allowed to set rues that violate people's rights. That's why we no longer have a poll tax. But I assume you think it's ok for states to so things like that.

Making it easier for Republican legislature to overturn state results is not reform but trying to fix the outcome. BTW - if you think righties are so into reform name one law they passed that makes it easier to vote or make lines shorter?

"Common sense voting reform" is mealy mouthed bullshit. Five states vote almost entirely by mail & drop boxes. Oregon has done so for 20 years. Just because a lot of half baked theories contend that it's insecure in some undefined & magical way doesn't make it so. That's all just conspiracy theory bullshit.

You are talking to literal shithead fascisst that spout ridiculous lie after ridiculous lie from the massive Antifa organization to needing common sense voting reform to counter non-existent fraud. These people no longer exist in reality.

Do you guys see what he did there? That’s what righties do, they frame it as common sense so you don’t even bother thinking about it. But it only takes along one little question to see through their bull shit; is voter fraud an issue? Of course righties like the traitor Felix and taj don’t bother questioning things when the claims come from their own, in fact not only do they not question the claims made by their preferred party but there willfully parrot their talking points.

Of course democrat politicians fall for their trap every time and compromise on things to address issues that don’t exist.

As if there's some actual compromise occurring in GOP controlled states like GA & TX.

Belive me when I say this, Dallas, Fort Worth, Collin, and Denton Counties together make a land area as big as Rhode Island. Thus, those four counties together can make a new landlocked state.

irrc, the fairness and security of elections isn't in the constitution. Congress had to pass laws saying that they want fair federal election.

So what? That obviously won't happen.
