Songs have always been emotional and have always been about girls and sh!tty friends. The trend now is that there's younger musicians, hence the "whiny" portion.

Anyway, as annoying as emo can get...I'll take it over jam band hoobapadeebop crap any day.

old to me...sorry dude, I don't have their posters hanging on my walls I and I didn't ask to suck the dude's cock everytime I go to one of their concerts. Emo music is whinny and they have zero talent.

You don't have to "suck the dude's cock" to make a educated statement. You simply stating that that song is "old" shows your statements about JEW and likley similar bands are fairly ignorant statements. You don't have to LIKE them or that genre of music, but making gross assumptions and generalizations only serves to discredit your points.

All the emo sh1t I've ever heard is a bunch of whiny kids trying to play gituar right. They have no skill with it. Why don't emo songs have gituar solos or anything approaching a complicated riff? All it is is power chords and strumming.

Classical music has absolutley nothing to do with this. We are talking about the relative merits of Emo.

Anyways, if you want to go that way, why is most good newer metal (dream theater, Kamelot, crap like that) arranged similar to Classical music, with movements, themes, bridges, etc? You don't get that from Emo, all it is screaming about how much their life sucks.
 
I brought classical in because you complained of no complicated riffs and solos implying that if those were absent the music is likley lacking. There is much more to emo and its history than JEW and Get Up Kids. Keep in mind GUK memebers also form bands such as Coalesce and Reggie and the Full Affect etc. but again you lack this knowledge and make ignornant blanket statements about Emo. You want solos? See Karate. You want edgier non-whiny Emo music? listen to Hoover, or Licoln.

If they want depressive music, Joy Division and the Cure did it better. Unfortunately, they are now advertising songs for printers and Zoloft.

Just like with any genre, emo's got some good and some bad. I like a wide variety of music, though.

I agree that the sub-culture of people totally immersed in emo music is a little odd, but hey, whatever floats their boat.
