Does your university look like it's in the middle of China?

but when a non-white culture dosen't value education and therefore ends up in the lower rungs in society its because of white oppresion

Because it's easier to blame somebody else for your troubles than to admit your own failures.

Good question....and good answer.

My uni looked like something out of ZZ Top's Planet of Women - girls outnumbered guys by something like 6 to 1, maybe more. 🙂

Nate

White people outnumber blacks and latinos like 10 to 1. The asians outnumber the whites like 20 to 1.

It's kind of overwhelming

Paranoia anyone? It must really scare you folks to see non-whites in higher education.

15% of my highschool is Asian, but it seems liek there are a LOT more...
What the heck does this mean? 15% is 15%. It "seems" like a "LOT" more? HAHAHAH.

I think they get free tuition or something for being from so far away.
You must be joking.

What would the correct answer be? Should Asians praise whites for teaching them the value of education? That's laughable.

my high school did, mission san jose in fremont, CA.

ucla too, class of 2004.

berkeley, where my gf goes, not as much, but i thought it was still up there in terms of asians😱thers.

I was the only asian at my high school... that's why I hated high school so much.
All these country white boys from the south that never grew up around asians

Hmmm Stefan, most of your topics involves Asian -- just wondering, why are you so obsessed with Asian?

UCLA is officially 32% caucasian and about 45% Asian. But the 32% includes arabs and persians and Turks. So UCLA is really only about 25% or less white. There are a lot of ME kids there.

UW-Madison, might as be the University of White Men

for undergrads:
1,140 non-resident aliens
676 black
146 American Indian/native Alaskan
1,346 Asian or Pacific Islander
707 Hispanic
25,693 White/non-Hispanic

However, I'm not too concerned, unlike so many people that go here. It's not as if we actively discourage minorities from coming here (quite the opposite actually). I think at least part of it is a location based thing. This is the Midwest afterall, an area not exactly known for being teeming with minorities.

It only looks that way because the asians go to class while the whites sit around their apartment/dorm room toking it up.

University of Chinese Living in America

LOL that's good.

And yes, it's the same way at my university (University of Waterloo). I wouldn't say asians out number whites, but the last time i was here (5 years ago), i was amazed at how many asians there were... and now that i'm back, there's even more.

That's because Waterloo has the uber-hard physics and math courses there...Here at McMaster, we have a lot of Indians and Asians due to the health science program.

Most asian americans are not rude nor do they have small eyes. I'm asian and I have big eyes. Maybe I'm a mix but who knows? I volunteer at Red Cross and I have a job at the IT department at Boston University.

The asians that Stefan is referring to are asian people who has just arrived to this country and is afraid. As you know, mainland Asian people are fearful and they do not like to start trouble. They were brought up about in a completely submissive and hierarchical society. Back in the day, if you did anything wrong, you are dead. Off with your head. If you even look at the empress, you are dead. If you do not kneel to the emporer, you are dead. In the days of Maoism, if you are rich, you are forced to share your wealth. If you oppose, you are dead. My great grandfather on my dads side was a wealthy man witha mansion and all so when Mao tried to take everything away from him and share with the common populace... he opposed. The following day, he was hanged for his crimes. WTH. Even today, the Chinese government has alot of control over its people. For instance, you cannot have more than two kids in a single family in many parts of China.

With all being said, it is no wonder asian people are fearful and seemingly rude. They are of course more than there meets the eye. Asian Americans are indifferent to all races and groups. We are after all part of the great American melting pot. To say that all asian people are rude and have small eyes is outright stereotypical. Comparing a favorable attribute, i.e having big eyes, to a less appealing attribute can certainly stir some stormy criticism.

I mean, how would you like it if I compared a White man's inferior small penis to a Black man's penis? It's not racist.. like you said. I'm just comparing factual details...

i know you're very much into asking these "innocent questions," but don't you think you're going overboard with all the asian threads? this is the third one i've seen, the first being about asians not holding the door for you and the second being about slitty eyes.
