I was wondering if it's normal to hear a rattle from my Blue Storm II 500 watt because maybe I could just take off the cover and see if something is hitting the fan blades. Is there anything in there that could be loose that would hit the fan?
The other possibility I was wondering about is replacing the fan. But, suppose I hook up a fan to the motherboard instead of soldering it (because I don't know how to operate a soldering gun), could that damage the PSU if the fan turns too slow? I don't know if the fan already inside accelerates when it heats up. If I replace the fan it would likely turn at the same rate all the time.
