Just got my hannukah presents from my grandma in the mail a little early.... 3 PS/2 games.... Guess she got the wrong impression, cause i just got a GC not a PS/2.

My dad says she got them at Walmart, but since she lives in NJ and i live in FL, i cant exactally get the receipt too easily.... Will walmart let me exchange them for GC games w/o a receipt?

P.S. - Before anyone rips on me for opening my presents early, she also sent some perishables and told me to open it as soon as i got it :)

UPDATE: Got shot down, lady told me i needed a receipt :(

Still sealed in the Plastic....

You will get store credit without a receipt.
And you can only return stuff without a receipt like 3 times in a one year period. At least thats what they told me.

dang 3 PS2 games????? I was lucky if I got 1 game for christmas.
And yes, btw, they'll take it back. If you're good, you can even get your money back, buy the games you want at best buy, and use a $5 gamers gift card coupon on each game :) Then take the $15 you saved and buy something for your grandmother.

They do, you will receive store credit towards anything else in Walmart.

You're lucky it's still sealed, otherwise due to copyright laws they will say no.

Well my local walmart took back one of those double pack dvd's, one of them was scratched, the other was open but they took it back anyway...

Believe me, if you cause enough of a scene, Wal-Mart will take back a used box of tissues.

Thats a huge YMMV. If its me, I would say no because of copyright reasons.

You will get store credit, and yes you can only do 3 "No-reciept" returns in one year.

I'm not sure we want to know how you know this, or just how the tissues were "used". :p

Seriously though, they'll probably just give you a store credit since you don't have a receipt. I'd just try it and see what happens.

Yep that is definitely YMMV.

Try taking back an opened music CD, DVD or video game to Best Buy, Fry's, Walmart, any store ... you will encounter resistance like a mofo.

Many places will only accept an opened item if it is "determined" to be defective. Then, they will provide you with a non-defective. Some will even remove the packaging so you can not return it later as un-opened.

I know that when I was in high school, I knew people who would buy games at other stores that were basically on sale for 5-10 bucks and return it to walmart w/o a receipt for big money since Walmart wouldn't have the games on sale... 30-40 bucks per game is a lot for a high school kid.

Go to a different WalMart or try at a different time (different CSR).

Or, just try to exchange them.

Or try a Meijer or Target or....

Thats crap! I work there and they can't refuse an exchange as long as they are sealed. Talk to an Asistent Manager, CO-Manager, or store manager. The laides (usually) dressed in a red smock called CSM's don't have any power really.

i've taken a couple games back to wal-mart without receipts. The first time i ever did it, i had two 50 dollar games. My suggestion, is to try taking only one at a time...to different walmarts...if you live near more than one.
