Yeah Kent Hovind's kind of a nut. I wasn't aware that he believes that dinosaurs never existed...

But don't be fooled by this guy, there are actually many reputable Phd scientists involved in Creation research. Check these guys out:

ICR - http://www.icr.org

But nevertheless, I'm still young, only 26. I have alot of thinking, pondering, wondering, and philosophizing to do. Sorry if I called you a fool... I shouldn't accuse you like that. It was a shot at you personally, but I do think that to just give up and say its all by chance and not take life a bit more seriously than that, at least recognize that this is some kind of holy experience, good or bad, I think is a bit foolish. Kind of like me driving my car 150 mph down the interstate when I had only had it for a week and wasnt used to how it handled... I lost control of the car taking a slight turn somehow, then flew off full speed into a ditch and somehow squeezed between two metal objects that would have shredded my car.. I then somehow slid down the ditch at just the right angle that i didnt flip and my car stopped right before a huge drop off.. when my car finally came to a rest, my car was pointed at just the right angle to be able to drive out w/o struggle. about 5 cars pulled over to help me out, and they were all in dismay that i was able to just drive up out of the ditch.

Some might say I was just lucky, but I dont believe it at all.. I've taken people out the the spot to see the skid marks and how they slide right through the things that would have killed me and i seriously missed each one by inches...

another thing was that I have an artist friend that dropped out of high school that has been wanting to get his GED. I have always pushed him to do it.. I told him, in my heart, i knew that things would change for him if he would do that because it would be an attempt at setting his life in the right direction. Well he called me one rainy day a few weeks ago, and said he did it.. He went in and took all the tests and passed them... I knew that something cool was going to happen to him, because he was kind of down and out about his life and he had been asking for a sign from the higher ups that something better was out there... So I went and picked him up to take him out to lunch, and the whole time on my way there it was pouring.. When I picked him, he got in the car and said thanks for pushing me to do this, I feel alot better and I do have that feeling now that things will get better for me.. I said I knew they would and I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen for him, geared towards him, that would be a sign and a reward for him listening to my "God is telling me to push this guy to get his act together"

well as soon as he thanked me, the sky just cleared up, quick, and the sun came out in full force... just as it was clearing up (a matter of minutes after thanked me and I told him in my gut something was going to happen), we crested a hill that gives a full view of the horizon and the biggest most baddass and VIVID rainbow spanned the sky. It was by far the most insanely, seemingly superimposed visual my eyes have ever scene... We, along with almost every other car that could see it, pulled over, got out of our cars, and stood there in total disbelief at what we were seeing.. Being that he is an artist, I wasn't so extra excited about the rainbow as he was, but the fact that he was looking for a sign, and something so insanely vivid happened exactly when it did was way to freaky.

None of those count as "unnatural." Unnatrual would include turning water into wine, walking on water, and healing the terminally ill. Things that break the laws of nature.

First of all. Surviving a car crash is easily explained by science. Your speed, angle and weather conditions would have been the primary conditions that determined the outcome of the crash. Secondly, thousands, if not millions of people more devout than yourself have died in car crashes. So why did god SUPPOSEDLY single you out?

Secondly, passing the GED doesn't take a fvcking miracle. And it certainly isn't very impressive on a forum were a large number of posters are college educated. As for the rainbow... I'm not gonna argue with someone who has zero belief in chance/probability/coincodence. Suffice to say that I wouldn't be suprised if your local weather man hadn't at least predicted rain, with breaking clouds and sunshine in the afternoon.

You're just as dense as Hovind and his followers. You can't explain it personally, so you assume it was divine intervention. "I don't know, so it must be God!"

Course, I'm a fool for even posting any response to what you have to say. :p

lol, this is just like the movie Signs. Are you the kind of person who sees miracles and thinks God is watching over themselves, or do you just attribute it to random luck?

Too bad I don't care what ATOTers think about that. Please commence the flaming for this statement. Maybe it will make you feel all powerful if you start screaming about how I can't prove anything he says.

I've never seen Kent Hovind provide a single shred of evidence to prove creation. Whenever anyone calls him on it, he simply says the burden of proof should be on the opposition because evolution is being taught with tax dollars.

Of course, what kind of authority on the matter is a guy with a JUNK DEGREE (from a known Christian degree MILL) who taught HS bio? :p

But then again, it's your right to believe every single fallacious argument he's ever proposed.

"A car can't evolve to a plane... duh... it has to have a DESIGNER! See! Animals are the same! Proof of Creation!"

17 hours' worth of the closest thing to 'proof' you can get

I say that because no matter what you say, it is not possible to prove the origins of the universe.

hours and hours of debates with evolutionsits. Not that anyone would watch them with an open mind.

No that was actually a good response... I suppose you are right, things weren't actually unnatural, just unlikely. Did I not concede to the science of the car crash by explaining how all the angles lined up? I was trying to make the point that regardless of the science, I was really "lucky".

And I am completely aware about the impressiveness of the GED. While I dropped out of college, I finished high school with a 3.9/4.0 GPA, and throughout grade school and junior high I was in "the gifted kids group" and never actually took a class. I just programmed computers and did brain teasers. And while I did drop out of College, it was to start a company that I ended up raising over $250k to start. So the GED to me is child's play, and it was for my friend too, the point was getting him to go up and take it so he could put that behind him and feel better about himself...

I'm not at idiot guys, I was the head contractor behind the migration of all of the Government of Pakistan's websites and stock exchange to the US, and did alot of work on the auction that still hold's eBay's record for largest ever. I also have a startup company in a tech incubator that is sponsored by Washington University and has only accepted 6 companies so far..

So I guess my "faith" is a product of me finding my "luck" too consistent to believe in chance. I feel really blessed!

I'm over 30 mins into this, and I'm pretty interested. Is he a quack? Hmm...I don't think so. I actually think he makes a lot of sense.

Most of ATOT does not believe in God or the divinity of Christ, so I can understand why you would think this guy is "spouting crap" but I actually find him to be very credible and believeable.

I'm not a saint, nor have I ever claimed to be, but I DO classify myself as a Christian and I find this man interesting. I've always thought the arguments and "stories" of dinosaurs being 65 million years extinct was questionable.

Overall, put me in the minority in this thread...I think this guy makes sense and is credible.

All his "proof" that dinasuars were around is crap. There are thousands upon thousands of Eqyptian paintings of humans with dog heads, so therefore at one time humans lived with dog-headed humanoids, right? The Inca's, Maya's, etc, etc all have similair pictographs. It MUST be that they were around.

There is so much mis-direction in his speech it's hard to keep up with all the lies.......

I think his "proof" is utter BS. He is drawing a conclusion that is LOOSELY based on one fact. Humans have been making up grand tales for all of existence - still are today.

Show me some proof of Romans being here before Columbus.

I can go on for days. Hovind is a loon. I will say this though, he was HILARIOUS on Ali G.

The existence of the Loch Ness monster has been thoroughly debunked.

One thing I have learned from this thread is Christians are way more gullible than I had previously thought.
