For those who dont know Northern Virginia and much of DC got bad ice storms last night and the roads are slippery this morning. Way too many nimrods out there with 2 wheel drive hoopty's. Also, too many people with pseudo SUV's trying to act like they're real SUV's. Not the least of which was the Navigator. Saw a dude spin out and hit the curb, hard. Looked like everything died when he did it and he couldnt get the engine started for about 15 seconds. I asked him if he had a 4 LO or Low 4 mode on his shifter or a button on the console. He said he thought he did. I suggested he use that instead. Did not suggest he take his sorry ass home. But maybe I should have.
Anyway the incident got me thinking about how Virginians dont know how to deal with bad weather. Also got me thinking I dont know much about fancy cars other than they suck ass except under ideal conditions.
Do the impact sensors on Lincolns also kill the engine? He didnt damage anything, but he didnt hop right up on the curb like my truck would have. He rammed straight into it and very hard.
