Does the Epox 8KHA+ MB accept DDR 2700?

Hmmm..if it supports DDR 2700 then I'm going to go get some. I don't know why I have 1GB of RAM. I like maxing things out and spening money on my computer.

😀

r u runnin 98? cos if u are windows can't use more than 256mb so it's gonna be a bit of a waste. good if u'r usin 2000 or xp where they make use of the extra memory capacity

I'm running Windows XP. So I'm going to make use of the PC2700. I have two 512MB sticks of PC2100 right now. So I'm going to sell those two and get me a stick of 2700.

I have a 512 stick of Samsung pC2700 memory on my 8KHA+ motherboard and it works great. No official support built into the bios but you can overclock and use the fastest settings for the memory.

<< No the board don't support pc2700. i got a 256mb corsair xms pc2700 and it still only boots as 2100. >>

haha.. what the hell did you think it was going to boot at? it runs at what your FSB runs at.. it won't just show up as PC2700 on the main screen 'n stuff.

of course it will take PC2700... if you can overclock your FSB to 166 MHz then the 2700 RAM will be running right at home at 333 (166DDR) on the mobo.
that's the only reason to buy higher rated RAM.. if you are gonna run at stock speeds the 2700 will make NO difference at all.

the potential for overclocking and ridding yourself of a bottleneck is the only reason to buy RAM faster than the spec you need.

for instance.. I am going to be upgrading my generic 2100 to some XMS2400 designed to run at 150FSB, i am running at KT266A board too.
my guess is the 2400 runs at at LEAST 155-160 so that's good enuf for me..

sorry 'bout the seeming like an ass, i just thought it was funny no one clarified in the thread yet...

How do you overclcok your FSB? What do you need to do? So far, my case temp is running no higher than 85 degrees. I know I have enough cooling.

Some boards have jumpers to set the fsb and some change in the BIOS, but you really need to read up on OC'ing before doing it. It's sux to learn the hard way when it's on a >$200 chip.

bdog231,

<<If your not running a highly accessed server then your wasting you money. >>

Not neccessarily. I'm running 1Gb of Crucial PC1600 and when I scan pictures at 2400x1200 it uses all of it plus half a gig of the page file.

Yeah. I'm currently running with an Epox 8KHA+ motherboard with 1GB of DDR PC2100. But after finding out that my board can support PC2700, I'm going to sell the two 512MB DDR PC2100 and get me two sticks of PC2700. Within due time, I'm going to get me ANOTHER stick of 512MB DDR PC2700 and and max out my board.

But what I wanna know is how you overclock you FSB on my board and how to do it.

i can only get my ram upto 148 then i get the win protection error! i'musin the mch bios - with the older one i got like 162+
