Does shredded styrofoam in a car's gas tank really screw it up?

A friend of mine told me that it's more "effective" than sugar in the tank - true or false?

 

I think anything other than gas in a tank will seriously screw it up. I'm sure sawdust would work well also.

Depending on how much was used, doing so would effectivly create napalm so I imagine it couldn't be good.

well, since it'll be in the gas tank, anything would really work, using styrofoam would make a bit of napalm, although it won't ignite in the tank.... pretty much whatever you use should clog the fuel filter

Doesn't frozen orange juice concentrate with gas (+ something else?) equal napalm as well? Anyway, there are all kinds of things that would work. But, as someone above posted, if you're planning on doing this to anyones car I hope you get caught and get your face beat in so bad your own mother wouldn't recognize you.

To really annoy someone, you could put a litre or so of engine oil into the tank. That would really screw things up.

I'm pretty sure the styrofoam will break down or be eaten away by the gasoline, and once that happens, it'll probably make the engine run funky

The best method is a plastic baggie.

It'll get sucked into the filter, choke the engine and stall it, but when the pump stops, the bag is released from the filter and the car works again. They'll never figure it out.

*note: I would NEVER do this because I don't have anyone I hate that much

i've mixed styrofoam and gasoline before and with enough styrofoam you'll get a highly viscous goo that will put out a match

2 cycle oil,like a whole quart,
they will think that the engine is really messed up,especially if 2 quarts are added,
to do this best,to freak your "buddy" out,

get a 2 gallon gas can,
add 2 quarts 2 stroke/2 cycle oil, to the can,
add 1 gallon gasoline.
add to your bud's gas tank,
his/her car will smoke big time!!!

If you've ever been to a start hat sells hidden cameras and stuff ( our local place is called U Spy) they have the coolest crap. They have all these small vials of stuff for revenge ranging from stuff you pour in someone's drink that gives them horrible horrible gas, turns their teech lemon yellow, to stuff that's called "Liquid Scratch". I think it'd be the worst thing to do. It instantly eats away at paint and all you need is one drop. They also have a vial that if you empty it into the gas tank, when it mixes with the gas it expands to 3-4xs the volume, tearing the engine to pieces.

i heard of this but with a ping pong ball

it floats until it gets sucked up then clogs the line stalls engine and when egine stops floats ight back up until it gets sucked into the line again

I made napalm with a friend before. The styrofoam dissolves in the gasoline and it becomes a kind of thick, pulpy goo.
