well.... Bush was on vacation during some pretty troubled times. Reminds me of Putin when their nuclear sub went down...

Misleading. "Vacation" for the president is anything but. His lines of communication and ability to do his job remain fully intact. There is nothing he can do in the White House that he cannot do at his Texas house. And if you've ever read any biography from any president, they work full time on their vacations.

Misleading again. I don't believe that for one second. That's like saying if I answer a call or do some remote work from home while on vacation, then I am actually working. Should I tell my employer to give me back my PTO time because I really never took a "vacation?"

I think not. Of COURSE he has to do some work while on vacation. He's the President of the United States. That doesn't take away the fact that he was on vacation.

Maybe you should check up on the facts before spouting off? Vacationing presidents work full time or more while on "vacation." Just read any presidential biography or talk to any SS agent who has followed a president on vacation.

And just because he is at his Texas house does not mean it's a "Vacation." The entire claim is misleading.

I say that about my job too. I can fix pretty much any server issue outside of a massive network / power failure from my house. My boss still makes me come in though... go figure, right?

And millions of people telecommute... go figure, right?

what can i say, his movies entertain, and even if you don't like his position on whatever at least it gets you thinking about some issues, which is a lot more than 99% of the mind numbing garbage that hollywood produces does. Also, if you don't like his films, don't see them!

Isn't it funny how neither the President nor Vice was in DC when that plane went down?

Not really when you consider how little time any sitting president spends in DC during their term.

You guys are a sad bunch. He has every right to make movies how he sees fit because he's the director. He could really care less if people think he has little credibility because that's not how he gauges the success of his docs; he creates them to outrage and envoke.

Bottom line: this movie will make huge amounts of money. There is already a clamoring for this film right after Cannes, and word of mouth will do the rest.

The fact that his movies are considered documentaries pisses me off almost as much as the crap he puts in his 'documentaries'.

Amused - I guess when you put your faith in the very people that this topic (aka Moore, Democrats, etc) are trying to refute and use those as your credible news sources, then our argument is moot right?

You think Moore is a liar so to refute him, you use Bush/Other Presidents and SS Agents (those loyal to the office of the president) to argue. Same could be said about me, in the opposite manner.

Facts? Why don't you check your facts before spewing off? Getting a little unAmused over there huh? If the President wants to change everyone's understanding of the definition of the word "vacation" so be it.

Let me just double check with you ... have any other definitions changed? For starters, jow about "found" as in "found weapons of mass destruction" . Or....

He has his own agenda and will stop at nothing to reach that agenda. He is fueled by a bunch of left wing 'stars' and George Soros. I would be much more likely to listen to anyone with any viewpoint opposing to mine, if they had a shred of decency while tying to put it across.

Whatever his views/opinions, ... He is a lying, bitter, hateful person.

🙂

Correct. Also the poeple he hiried are not some snotty geeks but insiders that know their facts. Looks like he is backing his movie up with great stried.

Here is part of what Moore has to say about the peopel putting down B.forC.

"Here's another whopper I've had to listen to from the pro-gun groups:

"The Lockheed factory in Littleton, Colorado, has nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction!"
That's right! That big honkin' rocket sitting behind the Lockheed spokesman in "Bowling for Columbine"-- the one with "US AIRFORCE" written on it in BIG ASS letters ? well, I admit it, I snuck in and painted that on that Titan IV rocket when Lockheed wasn't looking! After all, those rockets were only being used for the Weather Channel! Ha Ha Ha! I sure fooled everyone!!

Or....

The Truth: Lockheed Martin is the largest weapons-maker in the world. The Littleton facility has been manufacturing missiles, missile components, and other weapons systems for almost half a century. In the 50s, workers at the Littleton facility constructed the first Titan intercontinental ballistic missile, designed to unleash a nuclear warhead on the Soviet Union; in the mid-80s, they were partially assembling MX missiles, instruments for the minuteman ICBM, a space laser weapon called Zenith Star, and a Star Wars program known as Brilliant Pebbles.

In the full, unedited interview I did with the Lockheed spokesman, he told me that Lockheed started building nuclear missiles in Littleton and "played a role in the development of Peacekeeper MX Missiles."

As for what's currently manufactured in Littleton, McCollum told me, "They (the rockets sitting behind him) carry mainly very large national security satellites, some we can't talk about." (see him say it here)

Since that interview, the Titan IV rockets manufactured in Littleton have been critical to the war effort in both Afghanistan and Iraq. These rockets launched advanced satellites that were "instrumental in providing command-and-control operations over Iraq...for the rapid targeting of Navy Tomahawk cruise missiles involved in Iraqi strikes and clandestine communications with Special Operations Forces." (view source here).

That Lockheed lets the occasional weather or TV satellite hitch a ride on one of its rockets should not distract anyone from Lockheed's main mission and moneymaker in Littleton: to make instruments that help kill people. That two of Littleton's children decided to engineer their own mass killing is what these guys and the Internet crazies don't want to discuss. "

But, you know what? Even if it's blatant lies, a lot of it still make a lot more sense than the craps that's spewed forth by the administration.

The president is on call 24/7 no matter what you "believe".

I never really got what Moore's point was in B.for.C. HE built up this whole anti-gun argument, then proceeded to demolish his own argument by saying that Canadians have just as many guns as us, and are nowhere near as violent of a society. Then he goes back to the US and his "guns are evil" argument.

The underlying point that he is trying to make about poverty being the cause of most of these problems is lost when he embarks on silly antics such as buying ammunition in Walmart, and cutting in soundbites of Charleton Heston saying "From my cold dead hands..." over and over.

Don't blow a gasket at me just because you have no idea what a president does on his "vacations" much less his day to day life.

And I meant ANY president, Dem or Rep. Check with ANY of their biographies. ALL of them detail full working vacations with little-to-no time for R&R.

Presidents don't age so terribly during their terms just because they are old to begin with. It's because they have virtually NO time off. It's a 24/7 job that wears people down.

Corrected, this has been a known discrepancy, and the it's being worked on.

Moore is just an angry man. If you saw BFC you realize that he is a product of rural Michigan. He must have gotten his ass kicked on the daily by rednecks and jocks from conservative families to be harboring such a deep hatred for all things Republican.

His speech at the Oscars only goes to prove that he is focused on anger and stirring the pot, not the facts. Fahrenheit 9/11 is just his way of whining that Gore lost the election. Of course everyone else whining that Gore lost will take his side on this and rally behind Moore. It's all politicians and partisanism. It's the same bull when all the Republicans gathered to gang-rape Clinton.

Like Chis Rock said and I quote, "F*ck Democrats. F*ck Republicans. Anyone who makes up their mind before hearing the issue is a f*cking idiot."

I would say that anyone who watches a Michael Moore movie and takes it for fact without doing any of their own research can be categorized as a 'sheep'.

I find his movies to be interesting story telling and nothing more. Sometimes he makes points that I find to be interesting and, knowing his 'game', I'll try to see if what he has presented on that issue is a fact or a fabrication.

A lot of people watch the movies because they want to have some sort of beacon. MICHAEL MOORE SAID, MICHAEL MOORE DID, etc. without ever looking to see if what Michael Moore said or did was real or not.

*EDIT* And I agree with the previous poster's Chris Rock quote. 😉
