Here here. Although most of the cows don't understand why we have a cow avatar available in the first place, they tend to be pretty laid back people. It's a cow after all, it's not something that's inherently popular.

I don't understand why I have the cow avatar.

The RC5-64 distributed computing project that AnandTech participated in. The logo for the project was a cow.😉

The flux avatars and the alien (seti) avatar are also from the Gamma Flux and SETI@Home DC projects respectively.
