Unless it's more comfortable to speak in whatever language, i don't get why people would purposely speak another language in front of you, knowing that you don't comprehend what they say.

You already answered your own question. It obviously has occured to you that some people may not be native English speakers and/or feel comfortable speaking their own language.

It depends. If we're in a meeting or something, then yeah. I'd like for everyone to speak the language everyone in the room can understand. Other than that, I don't see a problem.
