Im curious, i tried playing it with full settings on with filtering off from the back. But the game wasn't as smooth as I wanted it. It sort of felt like it needed more ram to cover the map space. I have a bfg fx5900 , 2500+ barton, 2x256 dual channel pc3200 fomr ocz, 80gigs, abit nf7-s 2.0 board. Help me out here. I think this game requires a 256 mb card and id say possibly 1gigs of ram with a 2.5 ghz processor speed to run fully. Or am i wrong?

I was getting frames from 30-70. This game eats alot of graphics memory.

heck, i have a 9800xt, a barton@3000+ and a gig of ram but i don't max the settings. i like the silky smooth peformace and it still looks great with everything on a mix of medium and low.

ohh ya, i ment med/low aside from texture qaulity which is at very high.

the game is rather cpu bound on a strong setup as you don't loose much going from a mear 640x480 to 1600x1200. but 70fps at least? i think high just needs to lay off the bong. 😀

Runs pretty good on my 9800pro 2.8c 512mb pc3200. (everythings maxed except texture quality which defaults to medium)
1gb of ram should be essential here I think. Not sure for 256mb gpu though...

I have serious doubts about the validity of this comment.

Agreed. Unless he is using a 256MB 9800XT overlocked and an OCed A64 FX51 then I highly doubt this is possible.

i lose completely in this game..........i have a 9500pro, xp 2000, 512 pc2100 and the game decided everything should be put to medium..........ha one look at the island and i begin to watch a 1024x768 slide show!!!! hahahahaha

plus the lag wit firing the gun ticked me off........so i jus deleted the game.......it didnt look that realistic any way......i mean it looks good...better than most.....but i kinda had the feeling i was playing a cgi kids movie with guns!!! abit too shiny if you know what i mean

The lag is somethin very annoying in the game. IMO I believe and hope that this is a bug
of the demo version and eventually they will fix it in the full version. Lets wait for the beta to see...

I'm not 100% sure if the v-card will help. It seems to me that the game is a memory hog, it doesn't seem to realease anything from RAM. If I play the demo over a few times I'll end up with an "almost out of virtual memory" message (512mb actual, 1gb swap). If I run through the game once I won't get that messge. Others have reported that using the cheats & exploring the back side of the island results in a lockup - again it seems due to RAM issues.

My guess is that the code hasn't been optimized to release RAM & that might be one of the last things they work on (it's one of the last things I do in coding - get it working, address logic errors, check mem leaks, optimize for RAM usage).

Nothing requires that much vram and wont for at least another 6 monts to 1.5 years.

I am guessing upping your system ram would help a bit more.
