Does everyone else's boss swear?

So far I've heard "Oh, F-bomb", "Sh!t", and "Well if he doesn't like it, he can blow me."

Haha, I like that theres no censor here. I work in accounting, investments particularly. Does everyones boss swear or is there more of a restrained communication where everyone else works?

Welcome to the world of Finance.

I would not respect my boss if he didn't swear.

Haha, but is this an industry only thing?

Sales, Marketing, PR, any agency, they all swear but Finance is the king of swear.

It varies. I've been in places where screaming swearing matches were common, and in places where a swear word is never heard.

Engineering.. there's one woman in the office and that's only three days a week..

we're as bad as sailors.. also.. racism, sexism, and other random bashing is necessary for our line of work..

There's one guy who routinely says about 12 swear words in a row when he clicks the wrong thing with his mouse.. and he's a draftsman so we hear it often.. He has a sign on his cubicle that says, "Learn from this man.. Swearing solves ALL engineering problems."

One of my managers from back in the day would take the change from a transaction between a hot female customer and put it in his back pocket, stick his rear up and say "you know where it is you fine-ass bitch". Was fired, sued for racial discrimination, retired at 35 in Hawaii with assloads of settlement cash.

Good times 🙂

Welcome to the real world.

IIRC, the only industries that don't have a lot of swearing are HR, religion, and government jobs. Or basically any company where office politics are prized over individual employee qualifications.
Finance and sales are the "kings of swear" because top producers can get away with almost anything.

My boss tries not to since our HR dept has become Nazis about swearing but you can catch him every now and then when something reallly pisses him off.

pretty much... when I worked in customer service and as a receptionist, swearing was a pretty big no-no (never know who might randomly get offended if your voice is heard in the background on another call).

now that I work in an environment where I don't interact with clients a great deal except via email, it's FFA.

The marketing (I think) department where I work swears up a storm all the time. I was surprised at first, but it's not a big deal.

Fuck yeah he does. I'm in charge of 2 soldiers myself and say unimaginable things to them. Gotta toughen them up.

Well... when you're selling, you need to make sure you've hung up the phone before you drop the f-bomb on the other guy. When you're buying, you don't.

Often times I'll just be sitting here programming away, and then hear someone shout over the office.

"Shut up you lovely human!!!".

Nobody even bothers to take notice anymore.

my boss curses like a sailor, except he was in the army.

ive heard just about everything out of his mouth, including calling a coworker of mine a 'lazy fatass motherf*cker' TO HIS FACE. lol.

which is the most spot-on assessment of that waste of human life possible.

My boss swears up a storm as well, most of the people we work with do. When we're out on a show with union labor, these guys put sailors to shame with their language.
