As a known advocate of unnecessary killing, you should not be out of jail to say that.

has al-qaeda bigger and stonger now or before 9/11.

al-Qaeda is a one-trick pony. 9/11 was their undoing. Though they shocked the world with the magnitude of 9/11, at the same time opened they the world's eyes towards Islamic fascism. Unless they can nuke a major city, nothing they can do from this point on will have any significant impact towards their cause and Islam has become the world's bastard. Mission accomplished.

If 9/11 was their one-trick pony with two thousand and some killed, what is the Viet Nam war and its effects with two million killed?

If only al Queda could kill millions instead of thousands, maybe they could get past the level of 'mass murderers' and get to where they write history about how they did a good thing, too.

Not my point. What I am saying is their only tool, shock, has been used up with 9/11. It's the only thing they have, and unless they can top the shock of 9/11, they will never be able to do anything "effective" again.

Even so, all they really accomplished with 9/11 is turning Islam into the world's pissant. The number of people who hate Islam now outnumbers the number of Islamic radicals. Where they sought out to liberate Islam, in the end the damned it.

b/c rosie reminds me everyday why liberals are dangerous. that and i have a crush on elizabeth hassleback.

incidentally, patricia heaton was in talks to take the spot left by merideth viera. but she was too conservative (pro-life), and there can be only one token conservative on that show.

I love your signature. The fact that it was Reagan makes it even more hilarious.

I mean, good guy and all, but charitably, he didn't have a clue about the economy.

I guess I should be glad this guy is behind bars where he can be tortured and interrogated to confess for damn near anything.

what about OBL?

A more correct question would be "Does anyone think Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was NOT coerced into confessing?" We now know that the US military routinely tortures the detainees. He has probably lost his mind to the point that he would say anything his torturers want.

There is some uncanny resemblance to the Stalinist trials in the 1920s and 1930s in the then Soviet Union. People were confessing to some outlandish things, like digging a tunnel from Russia to Western Europe, or to a single person sabotaging the crops in the whole of Russia, and many, many more examples. The only difference probably is that only some of them were tortured; others simply confessed "for the good of the Communist Party and our fatherland".

Maybe we should release him into your custody so you can cuddle with him.

You know exactly what I'm saying. No matter what the news is, you twist it to fit your sick little agenda and slam the current administration. Why can't you just be thankful for once that this government has possibly done something right for a change? Seriously, the man is scum, the lowest of low. I don't give a flying fsck how we got information from him, or when it was released, and neither should you.

Problem is.. Info from torture is proven to rarely be truth

Are you glad we tortured all those people in Abu-Ghraib JUST LIKE SADDAM USED TO DO?

Maybe you would have liked to have hugged him to death as well? Stop apologizing for these bastards. I don't care if he confessed being the gunman on the grassy knoll. He's been at the top or near the top of the most wanted list for years; even before 9/11.

I understand the words, but they're absolutely meaningless in terms of reasonable thought.
No matter what the news is, you twist it to fit your sick little agenda and slam the current administration.
MY sick little agenda? You beg my pardon, but I'm not the one who started an elective war based entirely on lies that, so far, has cost the lives of 3,200 American troops, wounded tens of thousands more, leaving many of them scarred and disabled for life and killed or wounded possibly hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

My "sick little agenda" didn't include shredding the rights guaranteed to every American citizen under the U.S. Constitution.

My "sick little agenda" didn't include hiring a pathetic sycophant as Attorney General who previously issued memos stating that the Geneva Conventions were obsolete and approving of the torture of captives and whos e-mails now show he was not only willing to abuse the powers of his office for political advantage, but actually did it.

Why don't you tell us about your "sick little agenda?"
Why can't you just be thankful for once that this government has possibly done something right for a change?
Because nothing HAS changed. They still haven't done one thing right. This President and this adminstration are the sickest, most corrupt pieces of sh8 in our nation's history.
Seriously, the man is scum, the lowest of low. I don't give a flying fsck how we got information from him, or when it was released, and neither should you.
Thanks for admitting he's a man. I agree that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is scum, but that doesn't excuse us if we lower ourselves to his level and foresake our own principles.

You'd better think twice about that, and then think again about what you'd think about what you'd expect if you were falsely arrested and charged with some serious crime on the level of terrorism. It wouldn't be the first time someone has been arrested and charged with a crime they didn't commit.

Go ahead. Tell us what you'd say about it after they tortured YOU.

You will not defeat evil by becoming the evil you seek to defeat. :frown:

true.

rosie o'donnel's statements on the view about him being tortured into confession ticked me off.

Does anybody take that fat pig serious anymore?
I agree, I've stopped taking what Cheney has to say seriously a long time ago

Then why are we torturing Iraqis too? We are so perfect and beautiful in your eyes.. 😀

Sinsear, not too many people here are prone to giving into the emotional filled rhetoric that you are spewing. You show us a link with victims of 9/11 you are going to find no one taking you seriously.

Those "Emotional Appeal" arguments are good enough for the GOP flock. But unless you have a good and valid reason why the US should change its laws, torture and detain people (much like Saddam mind you) and then release these types of military reports for us to lap up like a bunch of dumb dogs then I suggest you go outside, take a deep breath and really ask yourself why you fail to question the validity of this "confession." There is certainly enough reason to doubt. Dont you agree?

What has the US been doing with this man and the countless others for the last few years? What benefit does our military receive by releasing this information now?

Use some critical thinking. And release some of your hatred.

/Yoda 😛

Depends if there's any corroborating evidence. If there is solid evidence to suggest so, then sure, his confession is more believable. If not, then his confession has much less weight. I think most here would have to agree with that.
