Since you live in CA, what do you think about it? Who will you be voting for (if you are voting)?

I have a strange strange feeling that he is gonna win due to him being a movie star. I wonder how good of a Governer he'll be though.

It would be hard for any mammal to do worse than the present monkey.

Arnold is a very educated man. Lots of people are trying to discredit him because he's an actor and therefore is stupid, or because he had lots of women friends years and years ago.

However I think this country can use some people in certain positions who have nothing to do with politics and more to do with the normal people.

If I lived in CA, I'd vote for him.

I would say he has more than a chance - I think he became the front runner the moment he announced his candidacy.

For my part, I think the recall is almost certainly a terrible idea, in that it sets a bad precedent. Gray Davis was elected in a lawful election, and there is no evidence he has committed a crime (other than the intangible crime of being a crappy governor), so IMO there is really no good-faith basis for a recall. I understand it has popular support, and god knows I am not sticking up for that idiot Gray Davis, but to me, a lawfully-elected person should be permitted to serve out his term if he wishes, absent some circumstance that makes it impossible (as if, for example, he is in jail or seriously ill).

According to the latest CNN poll, he is by far the most popular replacement. Like 36% for him and 19% for Cruz Bustamante, the second closest competitor.

I'm not in Cali but I'm not sure if I would vote for him. He's popular sure, but he has also dodged just about every serious policy question and his plans are contradictory.

Taxes - He won't raise them but he won't cut them either
Services - He won't cut any of those either
Revenue - He plans on bringing businesses back to the state

Well, how are you going to bring businesses back to the state of California when the whole reason they are leaving to begin with is because of high taxes and the high costs of doing business (because of certain services and policies that won't change) in the state?

Yes he was elected in a lawful election BUT the California constitution allow most elected officials to be recalled for whatever reason. Davis is not gonna be the first public official to be recalled *anyway*. California's direct democracy has its pros and cons.
