Does anyone listen to heavy metal/death metal anymore?

I used to always make fun of accordions when I was a kid. Then I heard Finntroll's masterpiece Midnattens Widunder around 2000ish.

I cant play any instruments at all. Took piano lessens for like 3 or 4 years as a kid, never got past very very basic stuff.

My brother is the opposite. He had like 1 or 2 lessons on guitar when he was 5 and now he plays every instrument.

Hope you have fun with it and kick some ass!
I saw Finntroll, Korpiklaani, and Ensiferum in a fairly small venue (maybe a few hundred people?), that was ALSO an excellent show. Ensiferum had a bucket at their table labeled "vodka fund", I had to throw a few bucks in there. It's taken me a while, but I'm kind of on your brother's path, right now I can play guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bouzouki, and this year I've started piano and accordion (and I sing). Still want to add hurdy-gurdy in there, maybe in the next year or two.

Nyckelharpa is the hot shit it Nordic folk/metal 😛

There's a metal sub for everybody I guess.

I wouldn't put the above in some top metalcore tier. Just thought it was catchy enough especially with the French connection.

There's still small venue metal shows in my town in the $5-20 range. I went to the heavy metal knitting contest this past Saturday, it was free, I dropped $5 in the tip bucket for the band. It's an annual thing, every year I teach more of the pre-teen crowd how to do a circle pit. This year a couple parents joined in.

Just listened to Solbrud's 4th album in it's entirety, its so frickin good. I'm glad @biostud shared some of their tracks before. Was just listening to Orm over the weekend too!

I'm glad you liked it. The album 'Jærtegn' was my gateway drug into black metal.

Unfortunately they have now split.

The front man Ole Luk has a new project called 'Afsky' which is also really good.
