Does anyone know if Crysis will have anti aliasing?

Is there any infoormation regarding whether or not Crysis will have anti aliasing. It would be a shame for a game to have so many graphics features, but lack aa.

I cannot imagine a game like Crysis not supporting such tech -especially when running in DX10.

i hope there will be an option to turn off the HDR effects. Game devs should stop using it altogether, and the only company that is allowed to do it is valve, since DoD mod and a few HL2 areas use it fairly well. No other engine can use it. period. I saw the demo vids of Crysis, and cringed everytime i saw HDR-like effects.

Oblivion is dry and boring looking without HDR. With HDR, at a high res, it is stunning.

!!!! I turn it off since it makes me dizzy. Running it @ 1680x1080, HDR looks like crap in Oblivion in my opinion. I can see how it may look cool to others since it's different, and something faily new... Donno, Oblivion all-in-all doesn't look that great (Environment is waaay too colorful, should be more washed out, HDR just tries to "hide" imperfections and only makes me dizzy)

Accurate depiction of shadows, image clarity and sharpness, and a themed color scheme (a waay more washed out color scheme w/ washed out textures) would've made the game look a lot better. I thought the game looked pretty cartoony; w/ HDR on, it was terrible.

Of course it will have Anti-Aliasing.

Good luck trying to use it.

I'm running a dual-GPU 7950gx2 video card with a gig of video ram....and will consider myself lucky if I pull off a constant 30fps when that thing ships.

SCCT uses it very well in my opinion. Other than that, I agree that it's generally too overdone and looks weird (haven't seen what it looks like in Crysis though).

I doubt that they'd make Crysis so demanding. The % of people that own high end video cards is less than 5% of the total PC market, and thats an optimistic figure. Most people own FX5200, Radeon X300s and X1300s, if they have any sort of discrete card at all. Intel chips more graphics 'cards' than ATI and Nvidia combined. :(

I agree, Valve used it great. Many other games just used so much of it, like in Oblivion and GRAW. It slows down fps a lot too.

So? How many of those Intel "graphics cards" owners are going to buy Oblivion? FEAR? And it's not like Oblivion didn't ask a lot from systems. To run Oblivion on a card that would run other games fine (6600GT) would mean turning resolution down to something silly, like 640x480.

Yeah I exagerated :p

I run everything now at 16x12, 4xAA, 16xAF and the framerate stays pegged at the refresh of my monitor (except oblivion !#$). Don't think that's going to happen with Crysis though :p

Well, if you have the 8800GTX when this game comes out, then maybe you could run Crysis maxed out at 16 by 12.

all i see HDR do is give a brightening in the sun glare, shadows seem too dark and light sometimes too bright, in oblivion however all i notice is the sun glare gets brighter, i prefer the bloom effects like in thief 3 or nfs:mw

Yeah, I liked the bloom effects used in most wanted.

anyway there is no reason to not have AA/AF enabled.

I'd pick aa over hdr any day.

for many yeah there is a good reason...FPS
your like me, you've had high end graphics cards for too long but even my old 6800gt would struggle with AA/AF on in some games such as fear or oblivion

heh, my 7900GT slows down in F.E.A.R. sometimes. I got so used to 16X12 with 2xaa, that it's hard for me to play at lower resolutions. The frame rates are ok for the most parts, but in intense firefights it hits 20 fps at times.

There aren't really many modern games that don't physically support AA. The only one I can think of is Halo PC. Everything else, including Crysis, should allow for AA if not from the game, then forced through the driver. But Crysis uses full FP16 HDR, I'm pretty sure, so you guys with Nvidia cards will have to pick which you prefer, HDR or AA.

i doubt that G80 will have problems with HDR+AA ;)
it should be out by the time Crysis is released . . .
