If they know it, I don't know that they know it because I've never given any out.

One guy at work claimed he knew my password at one point, said he'd watched my hands while I typed it. I've since changed that password, so moot point if he did.

Since I put in grades at school, I chose a long password that I can type blazingly fast. I've heard on more than one occasion, "holy cow, your password is that long?" And, I type it fast enough that peering eyes cannot figure out what it is. (and it isn't a long word that they'd figure out if they even got 3/4's of the letters.)

My brother-in-law and I know most of each others passwords.

I have told mine to my wife, but good luck having her ever remembering any of them.

I will take my main password to the grave with me. I have variations of one for most of my low security stuff. The only person who I think knows my main is my dad but I don't think he'd remember it now. I haven't told my girlfriend.

In reality, if someone could figure out the main one I'd be screwed since it leads to most of my important information.

The password is... one... two... three... four... five...

I have the same combination on my luggage.

My wife knows mine, but I keep my pecker in my pants so I have nothing to hide.

128 bit AES passwords kept in a 256 bit encrypted KeePass password vault. Guess I had better hope that nobody needs to know my passwords for some reason :p

My wife sort of knows some of them, but mostly for joint accounts of things. My own individual accounts I rarely use the same password (except for throwaway things), and she doesn't know any of those.

But they're almost all saved in Firefox on the desktop PC, so she doesn't really need to know them.

You know, if you don't set a master password in Firefox, it only takes a few clicks to display all of your stored passwords.

I don't even know my passwords/pins.

On the weird side I think someone is trying to hack my CL account. I got an email the other day stating that I had requested a PW change. Not ...

Probably someone who gained access to your email account after the Gawker hack / leak.

No one knows mine, but if someone dug through Firefox, they could get most of my passwords. I use 3 different passwords for everything, with a couple variations to account for some site's peculiarities. low strength/non-dictionary for stuff like forums. Medium strength for stuff like email, and high medium for stuff like banking. I don't get carried away with password strength, so my high end isn't that spectacular, but it should stop everyone but government agencies from getting in.

At least use a context-sensitive prefix or suffix. If you use the same password for multiple things, this Gawker leak could lead to some serious pain.

Lets see here. My best friend knows most of my personal info including last 4 of my SSN. I know my mom's paypal, ebay, and atm pin. My grandma's atm pin, and grandpa's paypal login.

When I was a Mod, I did a search to see if anyone used that password here. They did.

lol not surprised. My AT pw is still what a mod reset it to years ago. I don't really care if someone posts as me, just gives me someone to blame any of my other stupid posts on.

This. My pw is 15 characters/numbers and I am blazing fast. People always comment, no way they would ever get it.

That being said, I've told it to my best friend multiple times so I'm sure he remembers it.

My brother probably does.. I still use a lot of my old-ass passwords.. lol.

We both BBSed a lot back in the day, and knew each others passwords oftentimes.

I have a sort of public password with a weird ID that I give out to ppl wanting to access subscriptions that they know I have. I suppose giving them access to subscriptions is technically piracy, but that is another topic.

The rest, no one knows & they are complex. Maybe I am hoping that this will be my hedge against losing mental acuity in old age as I don't let MS anything remember passwords.

In some strange way this reminds me of a joke about eating well ...

Meaning if a service that I subscribe to has crappy security and a hacker gets even my best ID/PW combo ... why the effort? I should just use my initials & 3 spaces!!!!

My nephew's Yahoo account was compromised and I started getting messages on my iPhone via the Yahoo IM app. I knew right away that it was a spambot.

His password was so weak, I got right in and changed it for him.
