Does anyone here still use ICQ?

Random ICQ story that I think I've told here before: I've got three good friends from late college years (mid 90s) who found their spouses from 'ICQ random chat'. Only one didn't work out and broke up after a couple of years, but the other two couples stayed together until now, with five kids total between them, the oldest currently in high school. None of these people lived in the same country ('random chat', remember), so when they started dating, some international travels were necessary to actually meet the boy/girlfriend face to face. It's pretty amazing.

I met quite a few people online in the earlier days, and chatted with them quite often via ICQ (that would have been almost 20 years ago). I'm still friends with a couple of them and chat somewhat regularly, but have lost contact with quite a few of the others. I can't remember how ICQ was phased out.

Is the ICQ network actually still up? That would be kinda cool if yes. I don't recall any of my info though, I made an account, used it a bit, but mostly used MSN. Sucks that MS got rid of MSN, it was pretty much my primary chat tool for online friends. I lost contact with a lot of people when they took that down, it was people I did not talk to all that often though, but still talked to every now and then. Old guild mates from Ultima Online etc.

4303802. There's something about ICQ numbers that make them impossible to forget. 😛

edit: Ha. Logged in on the first try using a PW I haven't used in... 18 years? Which was probably the last time I logged into ICQ 😛

Been ages since I've been online... at least 10 years.

Psst.... MSN is now Skype. 😉 You can login to Skype with your MSN info.
