Does anyone here still use ICQ?

I found my old account from 1998, and it still seems to work? I'm not even sure... my 200 contacts or so (I think that was the limit) don't seem to show up any more. Feel free to add me then I can test it lol

Do people even use ICQ anymore? Or Yahoo or AOL instant messenger? I went to MSN Messenger in like 2000 something, then the whole network died recently (I think? or got replaced with Skype)... and I never found any simple messenger (besides going to random IRC chatrooms) to replace it with since... stupid M$

(why doesn't this forum have a sad smiley face I can use? Actually that doesn't sound like a smiley face at all and maybe that's why... :hmm🙂

It would really shock me if they did. I never used ICQ but did use AIM for a while.

Now the closest I guess is that we use Microsoft's Lync at work.

No but I used MSN Messenger till the end. It's too bad they got rid of that, I had lot of internet friends on there that we had no other contacts outside of that app.

Trillian did it all!
(but they had to keep updating it because AOL, MSN, ICQ kept updating their ports)

Teamspeak rocks.

[edit]Look at that purty ICQ thing next to my profile. I have no idea when I added it in but I sure as hell have not been on it in a decade.

I used to have 33333333, 55555555, 6543210. But those god damn Russians stole my #s and I switched to MSN Messenger.

2019586, havent logged in in over a decade ....

not sure why I remember my number...

when cell phones got real keyboards and unlimmited text plans became the norm, I had no reason to use ICQ

ICQ is the best thing if you want to communicate with people (especially strange people) but don't want to show them your phone number what is quite private information. So ICQ is better than <I think this is common, but necro thread, foreign IP, etc., makes it look like spam>, for example. I totally miss ICQ.
P.S. IRC is a true legend too =)

ICQ was awesome. For whatever reason, it was what we (everyone I knew in my city in the U.P.) used when we first started chatting online in the late 90s. I used it from maybe 1998 or thereabouts to 2008 or 2009.
