The work itself is pretty good... I get to touch on a lot of things along the way... databases/SQL/graphics/web languages... I'm a developer/integrator and I really don't know if there's any 1 thing that would fit me... I hate doing the same thing over and over. Also get a chance to work on new things so I'm not limited to only what I already know. Great for career building... and there's a lot of free training resources.

Flexible hours and work from home... has its good and bad points (human interaction)... but for now after doing it for a year, I'm 8 of 10 happy.

BTW:

PRISON VS. WORK...GO FIGURE...

Just in case you ever got the two mixed up.
This should make things a bit clearer.

IN PRISON.. you spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell.
AT WORK... you spend the majority of your time in a 6x8 cubicle.

IN PRISON...you get three meals a day.
AT WORK... you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK...you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.
AT WORK...you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON...the taxpayers pay all expenses with no work required.
AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON...you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

Have a Great Day at WORK !!

Intern at a DoD contractor programming in VB6 and some ada.

They always have work lined up for me and some of them are challenging.
Pay is decent $14, own office with officemate, flexible hours.

Learned more in the past few months then most of my programming classes combined.

I guess I like my job. I'm a PC Tech, and right now I just reformat new systems (or systems that need to be to be reinstalled), install the OS and necessary apps, and config them for the network and stuff. It's easy, but it's usually enough to keep me occupied, and I can surf the web while waiting for stuff to install.

I work for myself at home. I can give myself any title I want, but it's usually just "Senior Software Architect." I have others that do work for me, and the titles resemble a mostly flat structure; there's no "owner" or "CFO" nonsense. Of course, I'm a microcompany, and such titles would be more for humor than anything else.

[edit]Oh, yes, I do [mostly] love my job. I love working out of my home office in my shorts with all of my windows and doors open, feeling a cool breeze, and listening to my music. It's better than the cubicle life.[/edit]

I work in information security. It's pretty fun and I like it, but let's face it - if I suddenly had no need to work for the purpose of earning money, I'd be outta here.

Sometimes I really like my job and sometimes I hate it.
I'm a software developer doing mostly VB6/SQL Server development with a little VB.Net and ASP.Net thrown in recently. Future development will be done in C#.

When I'm actually doing design work, writing code, and launching new apps, I love my job.
When I'm stuck writing test plans or other documentation, or sitting in meetings, I hate my job.

I hate my job with every fiber of my being. I dread coming to work everyday and relish when I leave for the night. My mood sours just thinking about coming into work...on the upside, I graduate in May and will be out of here so fast it will make their heads spin.

On a whole I like my job. I work at a six flags in foods and services. I don't actually like the "job" part too much, but I do get to see my girlfriend and friends everyday.

I really enjoy my job due the challenges and great working atmosphere within my company. I'm lucky because the company isn't restrictive and encourages you to better yourself. I'm a software engineer working for a small company in the uk.

I love my job. I went to school for landscaping and I have enjoyed plants my whole life. Pay is decent and the co-workers make me laugh, what more do I need?

Hell no, I'm a server at Cracker Barrel. I was desperate for a job when I signed on and my roommate got it for me, but it is a nitemare working there. Jobs are basically nonexistant around here, and this is the only place (other than wal-mart) you are guaranteed to get work due to the high turnover. On the plus side, I get 200 for every person I recommend, and so far that has been 6 people.

Hopefully when I finish college I will get a design/art related job which I hope will be a lot better.

I did. Just got eliminated along with about 5% of our work force today. Stupid this is, I'm from the ONLY division that is profitable right now, and we (meaning them minus me now) have a lot of work to do this month.

I'm a Civil Engineer. Winter / Spring ; it's mostly surveying or designing infrastructure projects. Summer time, it's mostly inspecting construction projects. Its fun, lots of time outside in severe weather. But I like it because I work for a small yet highly regarded company; people are nice; bosses are helpful and patient. I occasionally get yelled at (for e.g. today I got an 8 AM yell and then a 4 PM yell from two different bosses...hehe) but its all part of the game.

I wouldn't say I love my job, I won't call it my dream job either, but it's a job I'd like to keep for the next 5-6 yrs or so...
