Found another old fuck!

I still don't get 'no cap', but admittedly have not really looked into how TF it's used.
I did check into it because I'm into etymology.
The current usage seems to stem from the 90s usage in rap, which has an earlier heritage yet.
Here's a track many of us may be familiar with, because we've mostly all seen Office Space.
Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta said:
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
A real gangsta-ass n**** plays his cards right
A real gangsta-ass n**** never runs his fucking mouth
'Cause real gangsta-ass n**** don't start fights
And n**** always gotta high cap
Showing all his boys how he shot 'em
But real gangsta-ass n**** don't flex nuts
'Cause real gangsta-ass n**** know they got 'em
"No cap" comes off as a counterpoint to "high cap".

What about... gag me with a spoon?

Am I coo? Is that flex talk?

Or, is that pops talk? Like, look at old pops. :confused_old: :confused_old:

gag me with a spoon is my time, so its old af (as fuck)

a lot of the word cloud is already old as well. my gen z kids would indeed cringe at the use of a lot of them.
if you wanted to get gen z in here, well, good luck.

they mostly do discord and mass texts for relational grouping and talking.

anything else is just sus. fr (for real)

Everyone has to feel like they're "unique and special" in some way especially when young .... all this is, is the 2021/22 version of "slang".

At some point if these new word-usages really catch on they might even end up listed in dictionaries. (other then "Urban")

My son as well.

He gets a laugh out of me with some of the vernacular he uses. Getting clapped. Beating cheeks. The explanations are banal, but the imagery my stupid mental projector provides is hilarious.

Evidently saying things like rekt is no longer cool kid speak. I was like - Son, I am disappoint. That is my favorite slang out of the entire Zoomer dictionary I think. Though beating cheeks is pretty damned funny.

Oh, and fun fact: The use of fighting/beat the air goes back to the 12th century.

I'm nearly 60 and don't spend too much time around younger people anymore IRL and yet I'm familiar with nearly ALL of those.... the OP's list somewhat less so despite it being substantially larger.
Don't make you an edge lord. :p
