Does anybody else feel tortured because they're *that* close to having a perfect life?

i do.... i am *that* close to living the life i want at this point... ugh it drives me nuts. if you're wondering what it is, it's getting into the computer science dept here. i'm pretty sure i can get in the next time i apply, but that will be in february. so i have to wait like half a year to be perfectly content 😛

Meh. I'm in the dept. of my choice, I'm having a good time in my job, I'm living in the dorms, yet have my own bathroom, room, etc... no money troubles... no gf, but I can live with that.

I'm good. 😀

if that's your perfect life you must be a pretty happy person. well, you are a lifer.
my life is nowhere near perfect. on some days it has been pretty damn good. but nowhere near perfect. then again, i'm not spending much time here anymore. maybe 1 visit per week.

I dunno if I'd say I'm tortured but in a few weeks everything around here will be as close to perfect as I could ever imagine things 🙂

Ever heard the saying, "Life is 10% what happens to you, 90% how you react"? There's some truth to it.

well, by perfect i don't mean something that is unobtainable, like suddenly becoming a billionaire....

i guess what i meant to say is "optimal". and no, compsci is not my sole req.... but i have all the other stuff nailed down.... good family, good friends, good job, etc

but yea, i'm generally a happy dude.

What is so great about CS? If you didn't get in, maye you aren't meant to be a computer scientist.

what's so great? it's what i love... so you don't have to think it's that great, but it's what i want to do.

and i didn't get rejected for lack of my computer science skills, i got rejected because my GPA isn't all that high (3.4).

No shame with a 3.4!

yea... i guess.... the vast majority of the courses that drag down my gpa are unrelated to comp sci, like chemistry and latin. and they were all in my freshman and soph year when i was pre-med. then i realized i like comp sci, and since then my gpa has been like 3.8-3.9 about. i haven't actually sat down to compute it 😛

i am kind of bummed about my GPA though, because i know it doesn't reflect my abilities. but what can i say, i was young, directionless, and depressed.
