So what driver are you using for your 6870?
10.1,e,f,g,h,i or 11.1 ,e,f,h,i or mabe the classic 12 drivers. ?
We need the one that works. :\:'(

e,f,g,h,i? Seriously happy?

Im starting to think you make some of these driver problems up. The only time you bring it up is when other people are having issues, not when YOU claimed to have issues.

Im sorry, but I smell BS with you. I missed at most 3 driver updates since my 4870 back in September 2009 and I had one issue and that was cause I switched to my 5770 without reinstalling drivers.

Now, I not saying there aren't any problems with AMD's drivers, like the GSOD or cards downclocking too low when running dual monitors. But it has been shown that those issues have been fixed, you always claimed otherwise.

Even just now, he says he's card is running at 400/900 and you respond "OMFG, the drivers still have this problem?"

What problem? Those are the correct clocks when running more than one monitor. Maybe you can clarify it to me, but I just seems like you are here to bash AMD's drivers whenever a user might have a problem that might or might not be the drivers.

I am running 3 monitors, DP to VGA adapter for the 3rd. Problem exists on 2 monitors as well as 3 monitors configuration.

Using VGA eliminates the issue requiring the active DP adapter.

Got it, yes it is 400/900 currently. 3 monitors running and media player running. same with flash running.

Oh sorry , I thought you meant you got it to work by manually adjusting the clocks to 400/900.

There was a time when the clocks were set to 115 core with a dual monitor setup and videos ran like crap, they fixed it by raising the clocks to 400 in a driver update.

I thought mabe they broke it again.
My mistake.

Disable hardware acceleration in Flash.

Tried that, made no difference.

I think your card is failing.. do you have a spare video card?

Not sure it is the card, since what is happening changes with the driver. I can not think of a reason that this would change with a hardware failure, (power most likely cause but verified good). I have another card (NVidia 7600GT) that I can try in the next few days.

I'm using 10.1e on my 2nd rig with a 6870. No problems except with xfire and Arma2. Sold my 2nd 6870 because of that and got a 570 for main rig. :D

I have not found a driver that will allow xfire to work without crashing on ARMA2 :(

Let me get my boots on. Seriously? Out of all the ATI/AMD cards I've had over the years, I've had very few issues; and the ones I did were usually addressed. Get off the wagon Man. It's heading for a cliff.:'(

6950 @ 1000/1400 11.1a hotfixed drivers - zero issues thus far.

Stupid question probably but you did use driversweeper right?

I'm also using the 10.10e on my 6850. I'm reluctant to go to the later versions since I read the mouse flicker still existed in the bottom right corner of the screen. One of the later versions even introduced some mouse lag I read. I'm not a big fan of the new UI either and since the mouse problems still exist, I don't see a reason to upgrade yet.

By the way, XFX Support has previously posted on these forums stating that many of the questions they receive regarding crashing drivers and corrupted images on the HD5000 series turn out to be related to unstable DDR3 (computer memory) settings. Just a tip - might want to set your memory to default speed/timings/voltage and see what happens.

This thread makes me feel lucky..I haven't had any ATI driver issues in years.

Good to know, but they are and have always been at default. My overclocking years are behind me, I realized speed is nothing without stability, and since I do no gaming either, I will tune things down to get them more stable.

Thanks!

I tend to notice that the majority of issues occur with Xfire or multi monitor setups. I've run completely problem free with single ATI, single monitor setups since the Radeon 9700 days.

It seems like you're already trying a process of elimination on drivers, which is where I would have started. Honestly if you can't get anything recent to solve your issue, I'd hit up the AMD support forum and just keep at it. If you still can't find anything, it may be a hardware issue.

only issues i had with ati drivers at default install were: underscan/overscan with tv, and the weird pinkish tint. both those were fixed after setting back to the "old" default settings.

for my 48xx CF cards, i found 9.12 to be the best. for my 58xx CF cards, i used 10.4, 10.8, and 10.10e. thus far, 10.10e seemed to be the most solid all around. never had any issues with flash nor dxva playback, and i only have 2 monitors and 1 tv, so never really tried to get all 3 of them going at the same time and they all have different res.

between (a stable) catalyst, RBE, and radeonpro, i had all the tweaking i needed to make me a VERY happy camper in ati.

i have since switched to nvidia SLI and have yet to find myself at that same level of happiness.
