Trump sabotaged the border deal.
Trump got rid of abortion.
Trump wanted to eliminate max copays on insulin.
Trump led a insurrection against democracy.
Trump wanted to place tariffs.

These should be advantages. How did the dems manage to lose this?
In an environment where black people stealing pets to eat them got traction how did they ever have a chance? Are you suggesting they flood the zone with their own lies and conspiracies to compete?

I am in favor of creating a science based society, but if it takes a cult to stop a cult...
That's a fight we are going to have to have first, before we can decide to be better.

I agree it would be totally insane, and would be ruinous for the USA. But I don't think either would stop Trump.

Trump even seems to admire Kim Jong Un, leader of a pariah, economic basket case. He seems to admire no reasonable leaders of democracies, but only Authoritarians and Dictators, no matter how incompetent or evil.

Trumps brain is wired wrong, so things that make zero sense to normal reasonable people, are desirable to him.

We have to count on some people inside the USA stopping him. Because I still think if he had the power, he would try it.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. We mainly agree, but I just don't see any plausible path to a military invasion of Canada. Although you'd be powerless to stop it, technically it would trigger NATO Article 5. So the U.S. would be at war with the rest of NATO? LOL.
And we also know that Canadians now hate Trump so much that there is no plausible scenario where his bullying tactics would ever result in Canada willingly joining the U.S.A.

Like I said previously, we don't want to rule out utter depravity and dumbfuckery of POTUS. But first, he'd have to order a military strike on Canada, or the Panama Canal. What happens next is currently unknowable, but being that such a preemptive strike is legally dubious at best, it's not quite as simple as he has the full power to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Trump doesn't have the unchecked power of Kim Jong Un or his daddy Vladdy.

Not so far, anyway, Hegseth is working on clearing out people who are loyal to their oath over Trump, so we'll see where we end up.

My take on this, is that Trump believes threats will be enough, so he won't need to do a Military invasion, but in the "unlikely" event that we reject being part of the 4th Reich... Poland 1939...

Trump is a braggart, but honestly don't worry about America invading Canada. Americans overwhelmingly like Canada and don't want to cause them any harm.
Same goes for you Greenland. Honestly, I think most Americans would be hard pressed to point to you on a map, but we would fight our own government if they tried to start a war with you.

What about a false flag operation blaming Canada, and demanding NATO help him?

Russians used to overwhelmingly like Ukrainians before Putin Shifted views. I'd bet Trump could convert MAGA cult into Canada haters in a weekend...

Anyway I do not think this is the most likely outcome, just a non-zero chance one, with a total psycho in control.

He thinks he's funny keeping up the 51st state bullshit with Canada.

Carney should just start referring to him as President Convicted Felon. 'Not questioning your sovereignty Donald, relax! Just the sanity of your supporters, you understand.'

"Mr. President, we're withdrawing your invitation to G7 summit because you're a 34-time convicted felon and we have to safeguard our southern border."

My entire point was that @Heartbreaker didnt understand what we are talking about.

It is entirely possible the conservatives will win in the future. It does not change the fact that their embrace of Trumpism cost them votes.
I agree. I believe that conservatism and conservative thinking is a primitive sort of genetic condition present in all people, useful in the paleolithic where dangers abound but has had to give way once people started settling in place and societies has to use rational thinking to develop and survive.

Wherever a loss of trust in the system coupled with frequent exposure to dangers real or imagined manifest, a society will become more conservative eventually if it continues in that direction to destroy itself. High IO people who use their gifts for their own personal sole benefit will find ample opportunities to turn those fears into profit, from guns to vitamins, to health supplements and offers of Daddy cult membership, for the frightened grown up children of the world.

Media awareness via exposure more and more generates these kinds of irrational fears. Canada could certainly be next. My opinion.

Yea, I have no objection to removing the bloated top echelons of our military, but this is just a way for them to move in those only loyal to the Great One Donny 2 Dolls.

Agreed. I would fight against my own country if the US ever tried to invade Canada or Greenland.

I was planning to offer myself to the Canadian and Danish governments in order to defend their territory, but 77 is too old for real military service.
