Doen anyone else NOT watch TV? (poll)

Does anyone else watch as little TV as I do?

I don?t watch any prime time shows 24, friends,... never have
I haven?t watch the news, ever, - last year my roommate and I didn?t know we were at war wit Iraq till it was just about over
I don?t watch MTV or any other stupid channels like that

all I watch is the occasional Jeopardy eps and whets on Cartoon network from 11-1am
O i watch sports also, but just the playoffs of baseball (Red Sox) and football (Pats)
I watch maybe 10 hours of TV in a week and that?s pushing it

Anyone else not watch TV like I do?

I watch TV and don't apologize for it. I am skeptical of people who perceive themselves to be an on elevated plane because they have resisted the lure of television. Or that they're too enlightened to watch Seinfeld.

never said i was on an elevated plane, i just dont watch TV, i do hawever love seinfeld - have every ep on my computer

Normal TV channels are full of swap

reality shows make fun of people and will make the people who watch them think that's ok to do in real life
soap operas fill kids with delusions
talk shows like Springer are probably staged but make people think its ok to have sex with your sister and stuff like that.. ewww
action shows are good but promote violence.

People who just watch normal channels to relieve bordom are doomed :Q they should read instead baby

niche/speciality channels are mostly what i watch. ESPN/tech tv/mtv hits/vh1 hits/food tv and nature channels and cnn occasionally.
But i gotta admit that i watched American Idol for the first time last week and almost pissed my pants.. I know it's staged.. at least half of those singers must be acting.

I will watch BBC news & comedies on PBS.

Maybe next year I will get cable for motorsports. I didn't know who Sienfeld was until
everyone was boo hooing his going off the air.

I listen to the radio more than I watch tv. I occasionally will watch CSI or watch Everyone Loves Raymond but other than that dont really care to watch. Maybe watch a total of 5 - 10 hrs a week nowadays

I might watch a couple hours a week sometimes. I don't think that I'm better than anyone else because of that, it's just that everything on TV mostly just sucks ass. I do watch a lot of movies on DVD though.

i watch about 10 hrs a week probably.. maybe a little bit more..
i only watch news and sports though.. no shows really (except sports shows sometimes)...

I don't own a television.
Not because I think I'm "above" TV (I'm posting on ATOT, for pete's sake!), I just have never been a big TV watcher ever in my life. When I went to college, my roommate was like "I don't watch TV, so I'm not going to bring one." And I said "Well I don't watch it either, so I guess we won't have a TV."

And after he flunked out, I got my own room for the rest of my college career and I have not owned a television since 1997. Later this year I will be getting married and living with my wife in something bigger than my studio apartment, and at that point, I will get a TV for us.

Sports, CSI, Seinfeld reruns if I happen to catch them, Cops, Forensic Files, Forensic Factor (on HD Net), Discovery HD specials, and, lately, Charlie's Angels on HD Net (love that ol' 70s style and music!)

It's pretty old. I knew a guy that was getting the paper edition back in 1997 (my freshman year in college, coincidentally when I stopping having TV )

It's not as funny as it used to be, I don't think, but still worth reading.

SatireWire was another awesome one, but he stopped writing it. You can still read the articles, though.

I watch some shows, but only if they're out on DVD. I only see current stuff if a friend happens to have the television on at his house, mine isn't hooked up to an antenna, only to my VCD, DVD player, and game consoles.

If I could get a cable package that included only the History Channel and the Discovery Channel, I would probably watch more.

I watch the news in the morning & evening for about 15 minutes, just to see what the weather is going to be like. Watch a lot of movies though. Other than that I don't watch tv much at all.
