Dodge quality?

Ok all jokes about american car quality aside. How is Dodge in terms of reliability?

I'm normally not a big fan of most american brands - but I've been eyeing the Dodge charger and man does it look sweet and tempting.

Any feedback appreciated.

my mom has a caravan.....the engines never dies, but everything else falls apart.....

my mom is just bought a new Sienna, but she test drove a new Caravan first.....she had nothing good to say about it.

Inversely, I've found the Dodge vehicles that I've driven to be of rather high quality.

Its a new car, so no one can really give good answer till we wait and see.

I would ignore the usual domestic bashing.

FWIW our caravan has been pretty reliable.

dont buy an auto from dodge, they have always been known to be shotty

Not the transmission in the cars, only the high-torque trucks, such as the cummins. Everything except the skin is shared across the Magnum and 300, and those haven't popped up with any major problems.

i've seen plenty of dodge cars come and go with the auto tranny. i dont know if that has changed in the past couple of years. last one I saw was a 99 intrepid, guy had his tranny rebuilt at 30k.

Chrysler products will continue to improive in styling and quality as the Daimler influence takes hold, IMO. My Dodge Dakota has been a greta truck for 5 years, and my new Ram, aside from an issue with a solenoid right after I bought it, has been good.

Only Chrysler product I've owned is a 94 Grand Cherokee. 260,000 plus miles. Major stuff: two transmissions, two fuel pumps, one alternator; that's about all of the major stuff.

I have an 05 Dakota and its a great little truck so far.
I've known a few guys with old 70's and 60's dodge desiels that still run and pull as well as any truck I've ever seen to this day

98 Ram 1500 with 140k miles. No problems other than the normal wear and tear. That and 2 back windows because I throw things to hard.. 🙂

Chrysler had some tranny problems in the early to mid 90s but they have fixed most of that. The Charger with a Hemi uses a mercedes tranny anyway.

Neither my dad nor I have had any major problems with either of our trucks. Only time I've come close to being stranded is when the battery went south. A couple wrenches and 5 minutes later I was good to go.

My 93 Dodge Dakota 4x4 has 187,000 miles and still running strong. I am towing our boat 600 miles this summer to our vacation destination (and back!) with it.
