Super! Do any of them:
  • Have V8 engines?
  • Use RWD?
  • Shlt & git when you tromp on it?
  • Have decent leg, head and elbow room, with serious trunk space?
  • Have a reasonable selling price.
Let's see the list!

Are you talking about brand new only?

Lets allow for a 2-yr old used cars as well, then you'd have:
- Infiniti Q45 & M35 (a 02-03 model can be had for roughly ~27k maybe less)
- 02-04 GS430
- 300C/Charger/Magnum (new or used)
- Ford Mercury twins
- Lincolns Town Car
- new Caddilac CTS-v
- an 02 BMW 540i/740i (anyone notice how a 2002 540i costs the same as a 02 740iA)?

I didn't include teh LS430 since it costs more than $30k, even used.

Still, the Charger beats the crap out of anything GM makes for the money.

What kind of idiot compares a compact to a full-size car?

I was comparing 4 door performance cars in the $30k price range...I would have thought you of all people could have picked up on that.

lol, come back when you know what we're talking about ok. At least I'm glad he didn't compare the WRX to an ATV.. cuz you know, they have 4 wheels and can offroad.

hmmm, not bad. but you know? if im looking for something like this, id rather have a GTO, with 60 more horsepower, 2 fewer doors, and WAY better styling. if im in the market for sedan, there are just so many better options. this wont sell as a family car, competing with safe, reliable imports.
then again, the magnum isnt doing that badly, is it? who knows, this might work.

Yup the Monaro rocks 🙂

Chrysler doesn't give $7K in incentives on their cars...

That's the first and probably last time I've ever heard that. The Intrepid was a very unlovable car to me, looked cool, that was about it

Who the heck wrote this article and what were they smoking?????

No kidding, what's the source on this article anyway? A Dodge Charger brochure?

It's not all looks, the 80's Charger was about affordable speed and fun, something this new iteration brings to the table as well

The Magnum/Charger/300C are all based on the previous generation E-Class chassis which debuted in '96. Costs for the platform are already absorbed.

I thought only the rear suspension/subframe is based on the old E-class. I believe the development of the LX chassis is pure Chrylser with only some parts-bin sharing from Mercedes for rear suspension/steering rack/etc...

Suspension, rear axle, electronics systems, stability control systems, traction control, transmissions...

Just about everything that makes the car tick except for the engines 😛

Well, that's a good thing otherwise it would probably end up using a live rear axle with leaf springs from the Durango.
