DoD Won't let me step foot in their facility...

My company sent a list of names of the people that will be going to their facility for testing. My name was on top of the list because I worked on the system the most, and did all the testing in house ... blah blah.
They saw my name and immediately strongly suggested against it before any clearance took place. It takes 30 days for the clearance I guess... but I don't think there is a rule that says I can't go. However I understand the concerns ... I am just a little bummed out I don't get to travel and check out their facility. They apparently have a really nice lab/set up for testing.
My company will not question the gobment suggesting and takes me off the list.
It just sucks... like a kid that builds a toy, but doesn't get to play with it 🙁

Wait, didn't you say this was going to happen even before you tried but now you're upset about it?

I am not even allowed to go demonstrate my work to the DoD yet, but hopefully when I get my green card this year I could.
Must be at least a permanent resident to enter their facilities.

I believe his company won part of a large bid to supply RFID chips to the military and other branches of government. They won't let him go because he isn't a US citizen.

Just because you know ahead of time that something is probably going to happen doesn't mean that you won't still be upset when it happens.

I took the "they saw my name" thing to infer they were keeping him out for other reasons. Maybe I read too much into the op

Yes. If I was a citizen then its not a problem... also if I was from England it would have helped.
Coworker from Singapore is going.

I did not know this was going to happen. This is just a testing lab. I am not upset... it just sucks, I don't know... not the best feeling in the world. I have been here so long I forget I am from out of town...lol

What upsets me a little is the fact that it is because of my nationality... if I was Israeli or Brit or fou fou frenchy, I don't think it would have been an issue.
