Sorry, I'm with Eits on this one, I just can't laugh at this. I imagine her wedged into the chimney, maybe too constricted to even call for help. She probably couldn't move her arms, so her cell phone was probably on her and ringing, until the battery finally went dead. Just a horrible, horrible way to go.

Have to agree with this...pretty bad to be stuck in something like that and not able to pull herself out.

Kind of um police failure there.

Still... 3 days with no food and water, possible to survive?

She should have kept her cellphone with her...

"The pressure being placed on the chest wouldn't allow her lungs to expand and she suffocated," Kern County sheriff-coroner spokesman Ray Pruitt said after an autopsy.

This happened a couple of blocks from my house. I really need to move....

The day she decided to pull a Santa it hit 110F, and it never got below 85+ overnight. The next day was 109F. The two hottest days of the year so far. She didn't stand a chance. I doubt she lasted more than a couple of hours if that.

She went in on Wed night, and friends/co-workers/police did look for her before she was found. Her purse was found in the backyard, and police did check the house out on Friday, but never suspected she was in the chimney.

Unconfirmed reports quote the son telling the police, "We thought maybe a squirrel was caught in the chimney. I was shocked to look up the fireplace and see a beaver."

Couldn't the cops locate you just by having your cell phone on?

Worst part is, someone a few houses down did report hearing what sounded like a barely audible cry for help but they thought it was kids playing a few houses away, or just didn't know what to make of it.
