To summarize that article:
In 1991 he created his third company using his last name, Nissan Computer Corp (Nissan Motors was commonly known as Datsun during that time frame). He registered nissan.com in 1994 and nissan.net in 1996.

He got hit with a lawsuit in 1999. They have been in court ever since.

The difference is that this fellow had registered the website 5 years before the lawsuit, and he has a very legitimate claim (he had run his business for 8 years prior to the lawsuit). You, on the other hand, really have no legal footing or the necessary support. So like I began saying, take the money and find another name.

I think the intent was clearly to steal Dockers' mojo. If that's the case, take the $100 and be happy you're getting that much. If it's not the case, you better get that website up and running soon.

The Levi Strauss brand name I thought was "Dockers" (with an S). You clearly registered the name dockerstore (docker store. . .docker without the S). Had you registered dockersstore I'd see why they could have a case but I don't think "close" cuts it. The brand name is Dockers, you registered docker. I'd fight it. What was your original intention for registering the domain name you chose to begin with though? That may have some bearing on the case. And be honest. Were you trying to be a squatter?

what are you smoking? lets assume he has begun advertising for his store (which is not yet open).
dockers should pay every dime he has wasted on advertising a changed site, pay his relocation fees for the domain, and a fee for his trouble... IMO...thats worht more than a measley $100.

1. The OP had no idea that Dockerstore sounds suspiciously like Dockers Store?
2. It doesn't matter if there is one or two S's. The pronunciation and thought is the same. Have you ever mispelled a website and got redirected to the right one? Well guess what? This is because people make typos all the time. You think someone who bought www.googlr.com doesn't realize that there's a search engine by the same name?
3. OP already succeeded in making profit. $10 for domain name, offered $100 = $90 profit.
4. I think I am going to open a store now for contruction workers. I'll call it Contructionerstore.com. WTF?

Dockers won't have to pay for a penny of his expenses if ICANN determines he was cybersquatting. You or the OP might not like that, but the facts are the facts.

And from his explanations thus far, it seems that cybersquatting is exactly what the OP is doing.

If I register the domain name "paypalira.com"... do you think I have a snowball's chance in hell of keeping the domain from PayPal should they register a complain with ICANN? Do you think they would buy my retarded explanation that it is a website to send money to your Italian father?

I would have agreed to an "amicable trade" as well. IIRC he was initially going to fight it. But he was a 17 year old kid. It would have been fool hardy to send his parents into possible bankruptcy trying to defend it in court. Their initial offer was something like $50. Its only because he stirred up some grassroots support before he caved that microsoft gave him a better deal, imo.

OK, but I don't think it's fair to say MS stole the site from him.
