Do Your Girlfriends Cry Much?

I told my girlfriend this morning about the Texas incident with the girl leaving a homeless guy in her car windshield and she started crying about it over the phone... unexpected.

Do a lot of girls cry over things like that? I've never had a girl just break down without it being PMS time.

Don't you think it is PMS time for your girl anyway?

Unless a girl is histrionic or pyscho, usually they don't cry over every-little thing. Having a bad day, however, would be a bit different. Maybe it was the way you told the story that got her to cry; maybe you have that voice in dramatic movies. Thinking about all of this makes me want to cry...

I'm certain she's not in that time of the month yet, but it's getting close, so perhaps she's starting to feel the effects.

Maybe it was a dramatic way of explaining it, but I had been reading about it on ATOT all day yesterday and I guess I was desensitized and didn't expect her to react that way.

It's not a problem, she's not upset with me, that's not a really a concern. I was just in an awkward position because usually if she has cried its about an issue with us and not a sad news story. I was wondering if it's common for girls to get so upset over something like this and if perhaps any of the nice girls in here shed a tear about the story yesterday?

It's all in the hormones. And the girls hate it themselves - because apparently it's hard to control.

Some of my female friends told me that will even start crying for no apparent reason.

It's times like this I am happy to have a Y in my chromosome mix.

hehehe, from disappointment? 😉

Y'know the 'P' in PMS stands for "Pre" right? Meaning if she usually goes through those symptoms, it would be before and during that time of the month.

I was saddened and shocked by the story but did not shed a tear. I too find it strange that your gf would cry about something that wasn't personally tragic. Did she have a bad day?

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP:
Whether or not she may be experiencing PMS, do not ask, imply, suggest, infer, or otherwise that that may be why she's crying.

😀

EDIT: trust me. I speak from experience. 😉

Oh yeah, I know what you mean.

Ever been bitched out only to find out later than aunt flo is visiting? I guess it kinda gives them an excuse, but part of me just wants to blurt out, "oh, no wonder you were being such a bitch!"

Dont say it!

Listen to ^^^^ He is a WISE MAN. 😉

The reason that is particularly annoying is that insinuating the reason is PMS makes you sound like you are dismissing the reason she is upset, and saying that she's being upset over nothing or that she's just being emotional because of her hormones implies that her reason for being upset is invalid, which is insulting. Big mistake, don't do it!!! 😀

You people do know that PMS occurs before a woman's period, right? Most of you seem to think they're synonymous. They're not. PMS happens before a woman begins menstrating, and ends once she starts.

Hehehe, when I was pregnant for the first time, my hubby came home from work. I had put on makeup, and he didn't notice. I locked myself in the bathroom for an hour and bawled. So yeah, sometimes we get emotional over stupid/silly things, just don't ever feel the need to tell us they are stupid. We realize that afterwards, and would rather forget about it. 😱 😉

of course they do...they're chics. That kind of behavior (crying and carrying on for no reason, babbling endlessly) is built in.

Best to just accept it. Sometimes it helps to just get up and leave the room.

🙂

I have never been much of a crier but I feel safe crying around my boyfriend. I always feel kinda dumb afterwards, and sorry, if it was over something stupid. Frequently happens pre-you-know-when. I know I'm female, I don't need my hormones to remind me so often. I don't wanna be a girlfriend that's a crier, so working on that.

It's called being "emotionally sensative" or some political correct thing like that. But don't worry... it's a girl thing, and it's okay. 🙂

My girlfriend has cried only once in front of me, and it was for a VERY VERY good reason.

All besides that, she maintains her cool very well, and I absolutely love it! I'm a lucky guy! 🙂

Not really.. I actually seem to be more emotional that way than my girlfriend. :Q It just depends on the situation. I've never seen her cry for "no reason"..

Yep.. That's why it's called Pre Menstrual Syndrome. 😀

Hehehe, I just thought it was funny. 😀

Crying over stupid stuff is for the weak. Don't put up with the lameness.

Oh you got your haircut? BIG F'ING DEAL. Nobody gives a rat's ass.
