To add to this, what kind of tooth paste are you all using that requires water to help it spread? I've never had a problem with spreading mine.

It just feels too thick without water. A splash of water is fine.
Yea, it gives it a better mouth feel. Toms of Maine's gels are a little too thin, and I'll use those without water. I'm not a fan of gels though, so I don't get them much.

Adding water to your toothpaste spigot 200 hundred times and sealing it up to fester just seems gross to me. Toothpaste first: keep the tube clean where it doesn't get a good chance to dry out.
