Through the nature of my job I witness people brushing their teeth and have noticed more than a few people add paste to the brush and then water which seems odd to me.

Just curious what others do.

*Edit*

Hrmm, before and after is new to me, thus I didn't include it in the poll. Sorry

Also i'm just talking about before the brush hits your mouth. I assume everyone rinses it after brushing or else Ewww.

I wet before, put the toothpaste on, wet the toothpaste, and then after I'm done I rinse out mah brush and dip it in peroxide.

I used to wet it afterward when I was younger, because that's what my parents said to do - and it seemed to press the toothpaste down onto the bristles.

Watering the brush before makes it slightly tougher to get the blob of paste to adhere to the brush.

Eventually, I figured that it was just as easy to press down the paste with tooth contact. Thus, no watering of the brush occurs until I'm done brushing, and am rinsing it off.

I do this, minus the peroxide. I don't know why I do it, it's the way my mom taught me. If I forget to wet the toothpaste it feels funny.

Usually both, but I always at least wet the brush first. I never brush dry.

Same. My routine is this(Sonicare):

Take brush-cap off, put the brush under water and turn it on, swishing it around a but. Turn off, apply toothpaste, momentarily run under water to wet the brush, insert into mouth, power on. Brush until it turns off(2 minutes, I think).

lol
