Do you wear a seatbelt?

Yes, even when I am just moving to another parking space 25 feet down. You are a fool for not wearing one and you will soon remove yourself from the gene pool. 😀

And knowing how to drive saves your life from another car running into you and you being flung from the car, how?

Psst, those "most people" that you speak of. Did you know that they are on the roads too?
Or do you only drive on private roads with no other drivers on them?

The reason I wear a seatbelt isn't because I'm incapable of driving, it's because of the idiots out there who can't drive worth a sh!t.

Sometimes good drivers screw up too.

I suppose that is possible too. Either way I'm wearing my seat bucke.

With my old car, I would sometimes skip it... either just forgetting to do it or on very short trips.

With my new car, it has a very annoying warning bell every 30 seconds or so unless I have it on, so I am always wearing it now.

it's so much of a habit for me that it feels like something is missing if I'm not wearing one

Yup.

When I was young no one wore their seatbelts. When it became the law it didn't take long before almost everyone wore them and soon after that almost everyone complaining about "freedom" and other nonsense shutup and got used to it.

I don't wear a bright orange vest when I'm in the woods with other hunters, because I'm a good shot.

I live in Southern California and I was watching game six of Cleveland vs. Detriot on some local Detriot channel (via satellite). A click it or ticket commercial aired and it messaged that a ticket will cost a violator $60.

My first reaction along with my friend's was WTF! Only $60?!?!

It is much more expensive in California, and of course I always wear my seat belt. 🙂

Wow, in Wisconsin the seatbelt ticket is only $10. Hardly a deterrent 😕

I used to do it only when I was driving, but at my current job, if we want to use a company vehicle it's a requirement that all occupants buckle up and my boss is on the rules/regulations committee so he kind of had to make me. I've been here long enough that it's become habit for pretty much any vehicle I get in.

The law here in Colorado blew my mind...

Front seats: Always require a seatbelt
Rear seats: Only required if the passengers are under 16.
😕

Debbie Clark said her son wasn't wearing a seat belt when the accident happened

MORIARTY, N.M. (AP) - Spencer Clark, who made his Busch Series debut this year, and a crew member were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in New Mexico, authorities said.

Clark, 19, and Andrew Phillips, 28, were killed when their truck and trailer were hit by a gust of wind as they passed through the mountains just east of Albuquerque on Sunday night. The vehicle lost control and both men were ejected, state police spokesman Lt. Jimmy Glascock said.

Nice analogy.

Same here in Jersey, but
Rear seats: Only required if the passengers are under 18.
