Actually, the NTFS file protection won't help me since this machine always uses my logon and it'd be suspicious for my fiancee to use her own logon all of a sudden.

I've used NTFS ever since I switch to Win2k... now I use XP and still use NTFS. I like being able to set permissions on files.

ntfs is the only way to go.
fat32 should only be used for backwards compatibility (9.x OS's, linux/windows dualboot)

Move into the year 1999. You can boot to an NTFS from DOS. You just need a slightly modified boot disk.
