Haha, this reminds a story about my friend's computer and a "virus".

My friend's computer didn't have any AV software because his mother didn't want to spend the bucks, but after a long period of persuasion his mother finally gave in. He went to the story and bought the Norton AV 2000, happily he installed it into his system. When the AV made the first virus scan he realized that there were about 100 files found affected by virus, unfortunately he had eight HDDs in total, and when the AV finally finished, it counted total of 4000+ files affected. Luckily the "virus" was only a hoax; it only made copies of itself and affected other files. The bad news for him was that some system files were affected by this hoax and he probably has to reformat to get rid of the hoax once and for all.

I can't believe there is that many idiots who don't use an AV program of some kind. There are free AV programs so cost is not even an excuse. What is any reasonable excuse not to use an AV program?
