Do you use a mousepad for your optical?

Works fine on my wood-grain desk (which doesn't have any finish to speak of). Of course, the Logitech Optical (standard-issue) is so unresponsive on any surface that it really doesn't matter :D

I use a mouse pad. It's basically a small cutting board. I can't remember the name of it. The only problem is that there is a spot in the middle where the optical messes up sometimes. It's much smoother than my desk.

yup. i prefer a regular cloth mousepad over my Ratpadz while using my ms intellimouse optical. :)

Yep. I have one of those really really nice gel ones w/ wrist support also, so I can't imagine not using it. That woudl be a complete waste.

Yes.. I have a messed up Surface 1030.. as you can see here. I still need to convince them it's their fault.. oi..

I just purchased a Everglide Giganta Optical pad for my new MX700 and it works extremely well. :)

Even before the optical mice, I strived to find a desktop surface that could work without a pad. I for damn sure ain't using a pad with my opticals! Text Text Text
