Do you use a dishwasher?

If so, do you clean/rinse the dishes before you put it into the dishwasher?

Any other things you do?

Nope, when we redid our kitchen 2 years back, we found that we couldn't find enough floorspace to install one. Our kitchen doubles as a dining room.

Yes. But when I announce that I'm going to load the dishwasher, I really mean that I'm headed to the fridge for a large beer that I will consume while manually scrubbing cutlery and flatware.

Absolutely not. Dishwasher are wasteful, and do a crappy job of washing dishes. If you're gonna take the trouble of rinsing them off first, you might as well go the rest of the way and wash them properly.

I use one but it is not a dishwasher it is a dish sanitizer.....you wash the dishes before so you don't get nice little dried food particles stuck all over your dishes requiring you to start the whole process over again. I wonder why I cannot convince any of the women in my life this little tidbit.

Yes I don't rinse or anything and the dishwasher always does a good job washing the dishes.

I HATE washing dishes and the dishwasher saves me from this horrible task.

No. I don't even have hot water in my place. Even if I did (and yes I know dishwashers have heating elements) I don't think my gray water catchment system would like the non-biodegradable soaps for auto dishwashers. Currently using Dr. Bronners but I sometimes switch to seventh generation soap.

I never pre-rinse/wash, but I do try to wipe most of the stuff off a plate/pan/whatever shortly after it's used (before everything gets dried on). After that, into the dishwasher, which rules, because washing dishes sucks.

Yes. I want the dishwasher to sterilize the dishes / pots I'm putting in there. Not very effective if dried food is laminated on the surface.

i wash all the visible food off of plates, then send them thru the dishwasher once. dishwasher uses water much hotter than i can in the sink.

pots and pans are done by hand, only run the dishwasher when it is full.
