Yes. But when I announce that I'm going to load the dishwasher, I really mean that I'm headed to the fridge for a large beer that I will consume while manually scrubbing cutlery and flatware.
Absolutely not. Dishwasher are wasteful, and do a crappy job of washing dishes. If you're gonna take the trouble of rinsing them off first, you might as well go the rest of the way and wash them properly.
I use one but it is not a dishwasher it is a dish sanitizer.....you wash the dishes before so you don't get nice little dried food particles stuck all over your dishes requiring you to start the whole process over again. I wonder why I cannot convince any of the women in my life this little tidbit.
No. I don't even have hot water in my place. Even if I did (and yes I know dishwashers have heating elements) I don't think my gray water catchment system would like the non-biodegradable soaps for auto dishwashers. Currently using Dr. Bronners but I sometimes switch to seventh generation soap.
I never pre-rinse/wash, but I do try to wipe most of the stuff off a plate/pan/whatever shortly after it's used (before everything gets dried on). After that, into the dishwasher, which rules, because washing dishes sucks.
