Will the Senate Republicans vote to remove Trump?

  • Total voters

I don't know how anyone could vote "yes" in this poll. Trump is the GOP. The GOP's voters love him like no one else in recent memory. If McConnell allowed the senate to convict it would be handing the entire government over to the Democrats in 2021 because no one in the base would turn out to vote for a GOP that just strung up their messiah. Trump is everything the right wing mass media has conditioned its audience to want. The GOP is going to be Trump and Trump clones all the way down for the foreseeable future. A secret ballot in the senate wouldn't save the GOP in the 2020 election.
A veiled personal attack of those who voted YES!! -- I don't know how anyone could vote "yes" in this poll.

Colin Powell: Republicans Terrified Of Speaking Out Need To 'Get A Grip'

Powell is "warning the GOP to “get a grip on itself” and stand up to President Donald Trump rather than worrying about the political ramifications. "

Not sure this will happen but the more repubs say it, it could stand a chance.
To think, these spinless repubs are more concerned about their re-election than with

our country and the constitution.

History will not show these cowards in a good light.

What really bothers me is that its not just a few Republicans. It is all the duoly elected Republicans who were elected by the people. That bothers me a whole lot!! I cannot believe intelligent men would go on TV shows such as Face the nation and admit they don`t care because they "don`t trust the Cia or FBI!!
Our country is in a sad state of affairs if our elected officials don`t have the balls to do their job!!

Shit, he could run independent for every election until he dies and perpetually fuck the GOP if they cross him.

So when the Devil wants to dance with you, you better say never
Because a dance with the Devil might last you forever

Unless they vote to throw him out.

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States

Maybe they should give that one some thought.

McConnell vows to stop impeachment.

Yes, yes, Mr McConnell. Now about our President willfully breaking the law to slime a political opponent... and his admin trying to suppress a whistle blower report... and the Admin's own transcript confirming the crime... And the words of his personal lawyer... And the testimony... You don't have to be a filthy fucking Leftist to understand how utterly wrong & unacceptable that really is.

These pieces of crap are so blatant lol. Basically telling us no matter what crimes trump commits they'll have his back. Guy is practically untouchable with Barr and Mitch along with the rest of the GOP running cover.

Back in the day R"s had a moral compass that overrode their desire to retain party power. That moral compass was discarded long ago so I'm not confident that the Senate will actually process an impeachment once the House drafts it.

Of course they'll process it, much the same way they process Charmin.

Best of all he needs your money to do it.

No Republican voter I know doesn't hate Colin Powell. They stopped liking him when he couldn't convince the UN that Rumsfeld's drawings of mobile weapons labs were real and they really started hating him when he endorsed Obama in 2008.

The party that he apparently thought he was a part of doesn't exist now and, really, didn't exist when he was supposedly someone worth listening to.

Trump will eventually disappear when he loses power, which is guaranteed in the constitution. First he'll be a lame duck, then a private citizen who may well be facing some heavy duty legal assaults. The GOP will survive Trump. Trump himself will not survive. Will we survive the GOP? That's the question.

I'm still rooting for prison time in an isolated cell. As a threat to national security, Gitmo might be the place.

Betting markets have it at 20% chance they vote him out. I personally think things will heat up and that there are real legs to this whistleblower complaint.

It would take a paradigm shift in the thinking of GOP voters for that to happen. Trump. He's their guy. He could shoot somebody. McConnell simply won't let it happen, anyway. He's running for re-election in the heart of Trump country, so fuck you, libtards.

Trump and his cohorts have implied they will somehow magically begin cooperating with the impeachment inquiry if/when Speaker Pelosi takes a formal vote. Does anyone think they will? I wouldn't bet on it.

It's the DOJ, currently under the thumb of William Barr, that is responsible for enforcing Congressional subpoenas. This is the problem the House is facing that no other impeachment effort has suffered: A politicized DOJ intent on working only for Trump, not the citizens of the United States. It's a big deal, and not in a good way. Barr's actions are in conflict with his oath of office, but for now, he runs the enforcement arm. Who is going to enforce the laws against him?

Anyone want to venture a guess what happens if the subpoenas go to the SCOTUS and are ruled valid, and the people defying them continue to do so?

If an order of the SCOTUS is meaningless, then we're already in a state of lawlessness.

Barr dishonors his oath of office & the agency he heads. Trump found his Roy Cohn.

I believe that we've received our official answer on this topic.

It's disheartening. All but a few Republicans appear to be completely unwilling to even consider that Trump did something wrong. They turn the other way before the idea can begin to take hold. "I'm not going there," is their mindset. Instead, if they are in a position where they have to address the situation publicly, they declare that the impeachment proceedings are a "kangaroo court." Pathetic. And ridiculous.

Personally, I like Schiff.
