well it would make logical sense, but if they want to avoid confusion then they might change to a new naming nomenclature. I'm actually wondering what ATI will be naming the R520, R530, and R515, given that they didn't leave themselves much room after the X850, and they probably don't want the confusion of naming something like the R530 which probably will perform better than at least some of the X800 cards below the X800.

The way ATI are naming their cards I wouldn't be surprised (well I would, but still) if they named their whole lineup:
high:
X950XTPE
x950XT
X950Pro
med:
x900XTPE
X900XT
X900XL
X900GT
low:
x900GTO
X900pro
X900
X900SE

The 10XXX series was the sucessor of the 9XXX series. Naming it Z would kill it. I have never called the x800 EX-Eight-Hundred, I always Called it Ten-Eight-Hundred.

Hopefully, in a few years we won't need video cards because we will be able to hook our gear up directly to our noggin and use our brain as a GPU and optic nerves / eyes as a display device. :lol

Random Speculation but it was announced MS has been prepping to release SM 4.0 information, a.k.a DX10. Think that could be a cause for the delay is they're making fudo fit the DX10 so they have at least one leg up on nvidia?

I believe everyone calls it Ex-800 actually.
