i like how when ten people disagreed with you, you said nothing, and then one person agreed and you jumped all over it.
consensus? you're a fool for being so closed minded.
you're probably also an uber-dweeb wearing $10 walmart shirts your mom bought you, along with tape on your glasses because they're just as 'functional.'
I'm not so cheap as to shop at walmart for clothing and I don't wear glasses nor do I own anything that is being held together by tape or glue that I can think of.. Having said that, I'll only spend a good amount of money on something if I believe I can get good use out of it for quite some time.

I bought those at BB, not walmart, and it was a sale on something that normally costed more, you act like as if being a bargain hunter is a bad thing to do. Difference between bargain hunting and buying cheap ****** is that it's A BARGAIN, meaning that you're getting something that is worth considerably more for a lower price and not getting some cheap ****** at an inflated price.
Those weren't a bargain. They were like normal sale price.
You said "I'll only spend a good amount of money on something if I believe I can get good use out of it for quite some time."
You spent $1200 on harddrives with no specific plans for them.
Do I need to mention how you wanted to get something like a Denon 5805 ~$5000 for your ~$300 5.1 set?
I only spent $1200 on the HDDs because I planned on selling them and I guess keeping a few of them. The cases weren't being sold for normal price and were on sale, they sell normally for $60 yet I obtained them for $20 each.
I meant the harddrive prices were nothing special. Maybe $20 off? So you bought 18 of them? Why would someone buy from you rather than a real store? Your target market would have to be someone who knows enough about computers to install a harddrive, but not smart enough to check prices. If they know how much it costs normally, you're going to have a very small profit margin on this deal especially if you consider shipping if you're not going to try to sell locally.
Whatever... I'm just offering this as evidence of something computer related that you spent a lot of money on recently that doesn't seem to fit your requirement of getting good use out of it for some time.
The HDDs were half off, they normally sell in the store for $130 and I got them for $60...
Those drives are normally around 33 cents / GB everywhere else except B&M stores,
so $85. You got them for $15 off. If you plan on reselling these, you HAVE to take into account things like paypal fees, eBay fees, lowering of value in the HDD market, shipping fees, opportunity cost of time, etc. In the end after all the fees you'd be lucky to make $5 on a drive or even break even, not to mention this BB sale will probably saturate the market for 250GB seagate drives on eBay for some time to come, driving down the selling price of these drives. Trust me, I've got personal experience with this.
