I take GNC Men Mega Sport:

pGNC1-7365114t300x300.jpg

Been taking them for about a year. They're loaded with megadoses of B vitamins and keeps me going so I have energy to work out when I get home. They work really well for me. They do have lots of iron though, so if you tend to get an upset stomach you may want to be careful.

It's surprising how much certain vitamins help. When I take one of those B100 complex vitamins (huge amount of B vitamins), it dramatically increases my body temperature. My hands and feet sweat instead of shiver.

Shawn,
Could I ask EXACTLY what brand and dosage, etc. of the "B100 complex" you take? (Never heard of B100 complex).
I have severe problems with my hands and feet being cold at all times, even in the summer, it's unbearable in the winter!

MY daily regimen of supplements:
Fish Oil (Krill): Omega 3, good for a lot of things
B-12: To stimulate appetite (I can go a couple days without eating )
Vitamin A (4000 mg): For my lungs (Supposed to help them heal)
Vitamin C: Triple dose to help ward off Colds/Flu (I have COPD, bronchitis is a bitch)
MSM/Glucosamine: For severe arthritis

Getting old sucks!

I think it's Jameson. I got it at Costco, so it shouldn't be too hard to find (Costco has extremely limited selection of everything).

Most vitamins are a rip off and don't work .

I read an article a couple weeks ago that someone linked on here. It said most vitamins you buy over the counter don't really work, because they're synthetic. It said only prescription vitamins are easily absorb by the body.

Where is that article???

Multivitamin once a day before bed.

I think it's helpful. It seems like I don't get sick hardly at all but I've been taking the vitamins for many years and could just be that I'm older. I was recently out of the vitamins for a couple of weeks and didn't notice anything. But I think it's a good idea especially cause I eat fast food constantly.

I'll pop a multivitamin every week or two just to make sure I'm not missing out on something important.

Vitamin C, Magnesium, B-Complex, Fish Oil, and sometimes a multi-vitamin.
Not everday but often enough.

Instead of taking an iron vitamin, I eat green leafy lettuce and can feel an energy difference when I do not. (Boston and Romaine Lettuce)

Vitamin C deficiency can cause bleeding and very sensitive gums around the teeth.

Wow those vitamin companies have you guys hook, line and sinker. Human diets have never been as full and rich as they are now, so why you think we need supplements boggles my mind.

Obviously to balance out the unbalanced diet... Rather than change their diet to meet their changing needs, people find it easier to supplement.

True, but Americans with their hot dogs, hamburgers, steak, fried chicken, and potatoes are still far behind on having a balanced diet.

Yes I piss the yellow glow and don't feel right unless I medicate wit lots of vitamins. I have liquids I take right after run. A couple packages I take 2x a day. emergeC I take with breakfast. Other supplements as well like MSM, glocosomine, chondrotin, fish oils, etc. Maybe just a placebo but like I said I have no energy and just don't feel right unless I take them. Think of it like coffee in the morning for normal people which I don't drink. I have not been sick in 10 years though and it's a cheap habit to have.

No. It's another market that has grown on the back of really no proof of its efficacy in a general sense. It is "cheap insurance", but it's not like cheap car insurance and probably more like cheap anti-alien abduction insurance (i.e. useless) for most people.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multivitamin

Despite that I still feel like getting back on the multi bandwagon sometimes. I know few people who do eat a perfectly balanced diet, especially since nobody can even agree what that is or means.

The "I don't get sick" argument is fairly weak unless you used to and it's the only thing that's changed. I don't take a multi now and essentially never get sick, either. The worst illness I've had in a decade is a bad cough or runny nose, from what I can recall. I don't get flu shots, either.

In my 20's I used to get flu every year sometimes 2x a year. In my 30s never did and all that changed was exercise and vitamin regimen. not sure which helped but something did and I have no energy to exercise w/o my multipack so I take em religiously. My dad is ~ 70 and runs 7 miles a day - think jack lalane and he turned me on to all this. I figure don't argue with what's working despite the science.

Sounds like something written by a meth addict. I remember one dipshit trying to say "ascorbic acid" and "vitamin c" are not the same thing because one is a "chemical" and the other comes from oranges. People that dumb deserve everything that happens to them.
"There can't be, like, H2O in your body, man. That's, like... a chemical, man."

Some of the more common vitamins people need

*Vitamin D: This is made when your skin is exposed to UV light (being outside). If you work in an office and you don't go outside much, you might need more of this. Cereals and milk are fortified with this already. Black people need more vitamin D than white people because their skin naturally blocks a lot of UV light.

*Vitamin C: This vitamin helps with tissues repair. As long as you eat or drink oranges or lemons or limes every once in a while, you'll be fine. If you're like me and you only drink milk, then that might not be enough. British people are called "limeys" because their sailors always brought limes as part of their food supply to ward off scurvy. Keep in mind that scurvy only describes the most severe cases of vitamin C deficiency

*Iron: This is in your blood. Lots of women are anaemic due to monthly blood loss.

*Calcium and magnesium: This is for your bones. I drink milk all the time so I don't need more of these. If you only drink coke and coffee, then you might need these. Women seem to be hit harder by this than men.

*B vitamins: most people do not need these. B vitamins are found in meat and people in first world countries eat a lot of meat. You should only need extra B vitamins if you are pregnant or if your body has a hard time absorbing B vitamins.

Yeah the B complex makes me feel better and more energetic throughout the day.
I wont vouch for all generic vitamins but the Kirklands sure as hell work. I'm not going to a doctor to get a prescription for something so simple and cheap.
