I have quite a few, many CDR burns (with CD Text), tons of software CDs and DVDs, DVD-R burns. It's a problem because they're all over, I often don't know where to look for stuff. I have a plan:
I bought 1000 paper sleeves. I have a drawer that I believe will about fit them all. I'll need to do some customization of this drawer (it's in the desk I'm sitting at right now). I'll need to devise columns and indexed separators and a means of finding any particular disk based on the indexing of the separators. In tandem with that I'll need to keep a data table that records what disk corresponds with what position in the system and print an occasional report. I can either pick up the paper report to locate a disk or do it on a computer. I'm a database programmer, not difficult at all for me. The most challenging part is fixing up the drawer/separator system.
